WeightOff: TOP 05 SNACKS from the snacker

Email |

By adorebeauty06 · October 16, 2012

I LOVE TO SNACK. Really! it does not stop! How to loose weight that way? Well snack the right way! Or least the healthier way. (Sometime i do snack on fried popiah, banana fritters....and more..hey im Singaporean!)

I always watch the people in other countries raving about healthy snacks that can be found at their nearest supermarket. And living in a food paradise island, i need to do extra research to know whats good to eat PLUS its healthy. I am no pro when it comes to nutrition facts. I didn't do fantastic in my home-economic class back in secondary school either. Thats me on the extreme right!

However, I do know that healthier choice logo was invented for a reason. Heres what i plucked out from their website."This category includes plain biscuits and cookies, crisps, ice-cream and plain cakes. Products which are eligible for the HSS are individually packed in small portions according to serving sizes reflected on the Nutrition Information Panel, and they are generally lower in fat, saturated fat, sodium or sugar compared to regular products."

SO!!! That is why with this logo printed on certain products, i fully trust that the product was already checked and certified, the healthier way.

So, my TOP 5 SNACK BEGINS!

I do not have images of them because all of them are either in my office or needed to buy fresh. So since im blogging form my bed, i can only extract photos from the world wide web.

FIRST on my list!

They are crunchy, yummy, not too sweet plus filling. I present you, my new found favourite.

OAT KRUNCH SNACKS! caution: Not all flavours has the healthier choice logo. Two of them I found were the strawberry blackcurrant and the oatmeal. The chocolate one does not have a logo. I think it has a little more sugar to quality for the logo.

SECONDLY,

Nature's Wonders Almond & Cashew Nuts

I realise, since i love chips, i prefer crunchy snacks. They gave me the best satisfaction ever. So nuts are definitely it for me. I know these are amongst the priciest in the market, but boy do they taste good PLUS it really can replace your meal. (which obviously i didnt do-haha!)

THIRDLY,

My favourite fruit. The whole office knew this. And it is GUAVA. Another crunchy agent~ My favourite guava? Thai guavas! They are alot smaller and oh so sweet. I do not take them with the salt.

I was lucky to have a stall near my office who sells these. And i love every bite of it.

Heres the benefits for your body :http://www.streetdirectory.com/food_editorials/health_food/fruits/guava_health_benefits_of_guava.html

FOURTH item is....

there is only two reasons why i snack. Either its 4pm and my mouth is itchy to bite onto something, or i am hungry. So if I am hungry, this is what i grab the most.

Banana. Mind you the banana has to be this long and yellow. I do not like the short and bruised banana. haha! Talk about class~ Banana always makes me full and helps me with my bowel business too. It just never fails. I love love love it!

My FINAL snacks which i love to reach for is,

JACOB low salt high fiber cracker. When i first ate this, it does not even have a taste. Its just full of biscuit and wheat kinda flavour. But after a while it grew on me. I eat this alot. Some of my colleagues do not prefer this for tea time because they say it taste like granny's biscuits and that theres no flavour. But hey! It works!

Heres the thing about snacking guys. Do not deprive yourself from snacking just because you want to loose those pounds. The art of snacking helps you prevent yourself from being hungry throughout the day. And when that happens, you start feasting on every meals you get. Snacking is fine but take it in moderation. I snack and drink green tea together. I give and take in every given situations. If you have too much to snack, try lightening up your dinner for that day.

Ultimately, it has becomce a habit for me. I snack 2 times a day. I drink coffee once a day. And then i drink water or green tea. I hope this inspires you  and if you have any better suggestions for healthy snacks, share it with us down below ya!

I thank you for reading!

Picked Up: First purchase from Shu Uemura

I "HAPPENED" to be at Tangs because my gf wants to get the brows done at Shu Uemura. Well it all started that way doesn't it? I was browsing through the products of course since there was only one BA at the counter and she was busy plucking my gf's brows. So i ventured out on a role to learn more about Shu Uemura's products. I love the extension range of blushes! They range from purples, light pinks, bluish tone pinks to an array of corals! None of the blushes are packed with too many fancy glitters. They were nice to see and to touch too! One of the blush caught my attention. DIRECT attention. It was the vivid orange. The colour is super vibrant and i can't help but to swatch it. It was a major love at first sight. Nothing like what i had in my drawers. It is almost like expensive pink but slightly darker. After the BA put it on me, I was sold instantly. It just made me look radiant and brightens my face after a day of hard work! Loves it! However, the price is not on a friendly side. If you can see below, you need to purchase the packaging in order to carry the blush around. Otherwise, if you have palletes like the Z palettes, this might be good to pop right in there without to pay the addition $14.00. I NEED the packaging because im always on the go. I need this blush with me wherever I go. And that additional $14 was actually a good investment because i brought it out alot of time and i love how mini and light it is.
On to the brows, I was torn in between MAC or shu uemura. And so i thought i wanted to give this highly raved pencil a try. It is funny how it seems like there is no colour coming out from it when you swatch, but when you stroke it on your brow hairs, it fills it up in a way looking like brow hairs! I like the pencil because it gave me the natural hairs i need on my brows. It does not have a wax on the pencil like many brow pencils do so it does not look too "uniformed". The result is deinitely natural and it accentuates your brow hairs and shape.this is how it looked despite my oily face.  I was trying to show you how it looked like at the end of the day. Oh! to add on, it does not oxidise too making my brows look darker at the end of the day. And so we received samples because together, my gf and I accumulated more than $120 worth of products. So we split the freebies to try their products! In addition to that, thanks to Charlene for "over-purchasing" (haha) we both received the Shu Uemura membership card!

I am a happy girl indeed! Haha! Anyway thats all folks!

What did you purchase from Shu Uemura that you really love?!

Review: Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge Lip Color

By adorebeauty06 · September 2, 2012

I am a huge LIP FAN.

Humongous if i may exagerate. i love anything with colour. I am all about brightening my face up with lip colors. I feel that they complete my look. Eyeliner, mascara and a hot pink or red lipstick and im off the door! The Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge Lip Color are one of the most best invented lip products ever. However there are the pros and cons to these. I will let you know why.

They are priced at $39.00 each at Sephora. On my lips, they looked like this. Lip swatch i say!My personal favourite has to be no.8. i have never had a perfect red for an olive skintone. It has just the right shade of red and orange undertone to it. I am in love and i always feel extra sexy wearing that! No.10 is the top left corner, No. 15 is the bottom left and No. 8 is the bottom right.

My experience:

The pros.

I like the doe-foot applicator since it really help me to line my lips well with the product. It really seems like i applied a lip pencil prior. It is super pigmented, creamy and just so divine. Application was super easy. Since applying red colour on your lips, you do need a great shape to make it look all the more appealing. After applying the lip colour on my lips, i have to let it dry for a good 20 seconds and apply the gloss over. The gloss will help to seal the lipstick and make it last throughout the day. As you can see below, it shows that you can apply the lip product with or without gloss. If there is no gloss over. you can feel that the product kinda am a tad sticky. When i dap my lips together i can feel that it sticks together. So with the gloss, it does not seem to be the problem.
The cons.

Don't get me wrong. The lipstick lasted the whole day. Even after coffee, breakfast and lunch! However i do feel that at the end of the day of not touching up, the lipstick settles on my lines. Sometimes, dry lip lines, if you know what i mean. The outer area of my lips will still have the product, but at the inner side, the product will fade off. Which in comparison to many of my lipsticks, this product really can last long. I do not like how it looked on my lips and how it feels when i wiped my mouth after consuming food. It feels sticky, its uncomfortable and i have to touch it up or it will look super messy and ugly on my lips. So that bothers me abit. But i always touch up to avoid that messy outcome.

Nonetheless, i still adore these lipsticks because it is hassle free. You can bet that you lips will look amazing even after 6 hours of application. Its matte after applying the gloss and it always captures praises from others and a statement look for your everyday make up.

I would definitely recommend to you. This lip product is a genius invention. However i will not recommend to my dry and flaky lips sisters, like me.

4 new shades of Revlin lip butters released!
This might come off really late. Many bloggers must have mentioned about the updates but i recently just saw it at watson store and i was thrilled to find tutti fruiti! Its the coral- orange shade that i adore so much. So i bought it immediately. I love how the lipsticks are sheer almost stain like but still pigmented. They do however dry my lips up at the end of the day. Initial part to it, it definitely gave me a moisturised "senaation". Haha! Its true though! The new shades released are sugarfrosting, sweet tart, tutti fruitti and berry smoothie. They are priced at $15.90 each. Did you buy any of them? How do you like it then?

Weight Off: Ramadhan the fasting month

Email |
|
By adorebeauty06 · August 13, 2012

It is tough. Who says it was easy in the first place? I started months ago before fasting month starts and I was feeling the kick at the first week of Ramadhan. I think what tires me most was that, after breakfasting, and praying, I was already too full and lethargic to even wear my sports bra and get in sweaty and panting motion. It took me a while to tell myself "I need to get used to this. I need to make it work". So that first week, it was mere pushing my limit. Like making sure I move my a$$.

The Challenge

Food have been a great challenge to me. I want EVERYTHING i see. The desire to eat especially when it comes to 6pm, is so GREAT! But when you start eating, you tend to waste so much food. So instead of doing my normal Ramadhan routine, which is eating sweet foods, pray and then heavy meal thereafter, I switch it to, dates, meal and thereafter pray and then rest for an hour till i did my workout regime. It was a total change. My colleagues and I had such a great feast! The inevitable GREAT food!

I would lie to you if I say i didn't eat rice. I had it almost everyday! Seriously! This Ramadhan was just food haven for me. The dendeng, nangka goreng from Geylang Teh tarik, the keropok lekor, oily vadais and sweet drinks.. The list goes on! But still, I loose 1 kg after 2 weeks! Thats not bad! Hey at least i didnt gain a kg or two. I just realized that, you can eat ANYTHING you want. But in moderation. Example share that vadai with friends! Instead of eating 3, you eat 1! Then burn it and burn it and burn it. I really need to pump it up after raya! (self-reminder much!)

Regime changed

And after 3 weeks now, i settled for 4 days a week rather than 5 which was my initial mode of working out. I will get back to that when fasting month ends. For now, with 1 more week away from Raya, I am already feeling the reward of me working my butt off.

I am going to share with you my rewards. This might inspire you to work your butt too!

Reward Number 1:

I have two watches. One is a Fossil watch and the other my DKNY. Both of these watches has links to them. And previously, an additional link would definitely help me from having marks on my wrist after wearing them for a day. But now, my watch can even be pushed down my wrist slightly. I didnt realised until one fine day, when I was explaining a concept to my colleague, i had to push my watch down in order for it to now move around. Not a great difference, but something i really appreciate alot.

Reward Number 2:

I wore a size 20 3 months ago from Dorothy Perkins. And yesterday, as I was in the store with Adib, i told him that theres no size 18 for me! Which i assume should be the right and expected size for me now since i worked my a$$ off. But Adib told me to try it on and see if I could fit a size 16 which was the shorts I was holding. And then...i was super shocked that it fits! I ran out of the changing room and shrieked at Adib! haha! It was the happiest moment ever. I was having hella fun! He was super proud of me and gave me the cutest look. haha! I probably don't need to add that here but i want to write this to remind me why i want to do this too. So in the mere future, i can refer to this as my own motivation factor.

Reward Number 3:

My very own youtube videos actually! It might not be a great difference but i can see a slight change. I love change especially when it comes to my own features. haha! You be the judge.

Reward Number 4:

EXCUSE MY DIRTY MIRROR! i know guys. Shame on me. I didnt wipe it. Nearer to Raya, I promise i will. haha!Anyway, my favourite part of it all. Seeing my curve smoothen out. Don't get me wrong, I had my curves previously and I loved it. But seeing my body shaped up and my butt firmed up makes me wanna work even harder.

Besides the point of all the exterior beauty, the inner me feel less tired than before. I am able to move around more quickly. Catch for the bus without heavy panting, although i still do pant. Climbing up the staircase with ease on my knees and I feel happier overall. People around me starts noticing and it made me believe that i actually can loose weight. I have no idea what motivated me in the intial beginning, maybe because i found out i had to wear a size 20 and i felt it was just too much. And now that i am a size 16, I want to work harder my way up the size chart.

To those of you who are going along with my on this journey, i want to hear your story. Nobody to tell about your success story? Felt like you got nobody to ask or talk to? Then talk to me.

Email me if you want to @ adorebeauty06@gmail.com.

To Serene Tham, shoutout to you girl! Thanks for keeping contact and motivate me through your email messages. Hugs & Kisses!
