My forgotten purchase at Watson..

Because i was too busy over the past few months, I usually buy the stuff and start using them. I forgot when was it exactly when i buy these products. Watson have been having alot of sales lately. Member or not, everybody gets to benefit. So if you miss the sale this time, fret not, there will be one coming soon before you knew it. People queue for these sales.

Watson, good job! Great marketing!

AQUALABEL Sun Block SPF 50PA+++ - I have used two bottles of the Shiseido AQUALABEL Sun block White Up Base SPF 25PA+ and I thought of trying a product which has a higher amount of SPF on it. And since i have a history of breaking out whenever i try new products, I came to a conclusion of getting the same brand, with the same line but contain a much higher SPF which is the Sun Block 50PA+++. Remember girls, SPF IS REALLY IMPORTANT! Just like how fruits are vital for your body. Anyway, after using this for quite a while now, there are certainly no signs of breaking out and I like how the products smoothen my face out and it does not make my face oily or appear greyyish due to the white formula. It is not too watery either so that is a good consistency when applying it on the face.

DOVE Overnight Hair Treatment- My dear friend bought this back when we were in Bangkok. And I loved what it did to my hair. It made my hair instantly shiny and soft and smell oh so good! Apply this on damp hair and see what it turns out when your hair gets dry. Love.

VICHY Purifying Foam Cleanser - I have been using the Avene Gel Cleanser and i thought i wanted to try something new. I bought this and the first time when i was using it, the scent was really overpowering. I was scared that it might complicate my sensitive skin, but nothing bad came up out of it. It was however drying my face out where i see dry flakes of skin appear on my cheeks. So for people with dry skin, skip this.

Normaderm Anti-perfection concentrate - I always stock up on these. My HG product ever. I recomended it to everybody! They have new graphic packaging now. Not bad!
Read here for my review.

Olay White Radiane Eye Serum - I have heard raves about this product after seeing some Singaporean bloggers gave good reviews on this product. I thought of giving this a try. I am on my late 20s and I have been using eye product since I was 20 however i never really buy a product which targets just for brightening the under eye area. So with this I am determine to see what and how it shows up.

Well ladies, those were the skincare products I bought recently. Have you tried any of these? What was your experience like?

UPDATE: Rose Hip Oil gone wrong?

By adorebeauty06 · July 22, 2012

i did an update previously on my life pretty much!. On the beauty side of life, ever since i bought that Rose Hip Oil which i raved about on my Facebook page, I had a terrible outbreak. Suddenly, i had red irritated bumps! And the worst part is the bumps didnt go away for 2 days! Damnz! Check my skin out below man! Terrible. its a no no for me.

I manages to tame it when my colleague gave me this product which surprisingly helps lessen the irritations and  red bumps. I never knew about this product before. But she claimed she always have problems with skin irritation on an on and off basis and this product helps her alot. I shall ask her where she purchased this and update you all. If you do know where this is sold, you can share it with me as well. I am guessing probably guardian? So for those who wanted to try the Rose Hip Oil and if you have sensitive skin, STOP! Don't use it just yet! This is the only new product i wore from my skincare routine. And i need time to see if its the oil or just my skin giving me an attitude.

Will update you soon!

Products I repurchased and probably won't change...

When there are so many products in the market which can help every single need of yours, you tend to wonder, do they work on me? Alot of products you and I buy, we tend to chuck it one side after 1-2 weeks of usage. Why? Because there are ZERO results! So here i am, sharing the products that I have been loving for years now and I believe in these products. I have managed to gather them all and share with you the products i keep buying and replenishing on my beauty wardrobe. These are the babies that works well on me and who knows if you try them, you will love it too!Let's start ith this corner in a clockwise motion.

1. Etude House Collagen Moistfull cream (eye) $37.00 : I loved this eyecream. I don't see an amazing effect on it but it does smoothen out my under eye which makes application of cream concealer alot easier. There were no lines on my eyes after make up applciation. This eye cream has a good scent to it too. Its always cooling and it absorbs well.

TIPS: Buy it when there is a 30% off storewide. (Etude house)

2. L'oreal Lip & Eye Make-up Remover $13.90 : I have been using this religiously for 7 years now. I have tried many many eye and lip remover such as MAC, Shu uemura, Chanel on the high end and Maybelline, Sasa on the mid range brands. However, while the high-end works like a charm, the prices they have is inevitably high. For the mid range brands, there do not work as well. So for me, as long as it removes easily and there no tugging of my delicate skina round my eyes and lips, i am on it! And this remover did it just fine.

TIPS: Buy the ones which comes is a pair for $21.90. Great steal! (Watson, John Little, Guardian, Metro, Robinson)

3. Shiseido AQUALABEL Make Up Base SPF 25 PA++ $18.90 : I just recently tried this product because i thought, "hey! shiseido has an affordable range!" So i got it and tried it. As usual, every sunscreen product we buy, there won't be much of a difference, however you do trust that it would protect your skin from those harsh rays. This product here, makes my skin smoother for make-up application. It is infact a make up base too. I finally guaranteed this product was good was when I was out under the sun for hours, and when i came back, my skintone does not drop a shade. So that says something right?

TIPS: Buy when Watson has member sale or GSS. (Watson)

4. Avene Diacneal for Acne Prone Skin  $59.00 : This baby right here is really expensive i must say. There was a time i was having crazy acne and bumps on my face. OH! now i remember, when i wore MAC fluid on my face. So i went to watson and an Avene advisor recommended me this. It works! Whenever i have bumps on my face, i would use this on it and it will subside. I wont guarantee this to everyone but it works for me. It is expensive and it has a funky smell to it. But hey if it works, i am game!

TIPS: Buy when Guardian or John little has 20% sale which happens all the time. (Watson, John Little, Guardian, Metro, Robinson)

5. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion $70.00 : My bestfriend introduced this to me one day and i thought the scent is really stinky! However, while i don't see any results in this lotion, i realized, i dont have much problems with my face for a good 6 months either! That was dramatic if you ask me!

TIPS: Buy when a friend/ colleague travels out of town. DFS always sells them in a pack of 2 for $90 or each at $50.10 only! (DFS, Robinson, Tangs, Takashimaya, Metro, Sephora)

6. The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Wipes $17.90 : I broke out to many wipes from other brands but with this, i was more attracted to it matte-like packaging more than anything else. One day i bought the travel pack, which is $5.90 each and gave it a try. I love love love the scent. it is so refreshing and relaxing at the same time. It has a thicker ply of tissue to it which does not tear up however rough i am. It removes my make up entirely, includes eyeliner but not mascara. I never broke out ever from these wipes. Highly recommended.

TIPS: Buy when they have 20% off storewide sale. (The Face Shop)

7. KATE Mineral Loose Powder $23.00 : I received this from KATE bloggers event last year and i think that KATE was amazing for creating a shade for my skintone! Thats rare from such brands. Anyway, this powder last all day and it gave me a flawless finish. Even when i apply it on its own without any liquid foundation below it. Its that good! Surprise surprise! Try it, i would recommend it.

TIPS: Buy when they have member sale or GSS. (Watson, John Little, Sasa)

8. Bobbi Brown Loose Powder in Natural Tan $52.00 : I still owe it to Lin for giving me this. We exchanged make up and i received this form her. I am in love with this powder. I may add that this might be my HG powder. It made my skin look flawless. It does not oxidise on me. It made my blush last too which is rare on many loose powder. I love it. Right now, BB does not sell the loose ones anymore. They slel it in a pressed form. Check it out!

Review on more powders here.

TIPS: Buy when a friend/ colleague travels out of town. DFS always sells them cheaper! (DFS, Robinson, Tangs, Takashimaya)

9. Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm $9.00 : This lipbalm works a charm. Its not greasy, its not sticky, it does smell weird but it keep smy lips moisturised for a very long time. Even after food or drinks.

TIPS: Buy online. http://www.under-twenty20.com/ - She sells them in a pair for less. (Sephora)

10. ZA Eyebrow Pencil in BR21 $11.90 : I love that this pencil is retractable, that it has a pointed tip and that the colour came right off. Easy breezy!

TIPS: Buy when they have member sale or GSS. (Watson, John Little)

11. CoverGirl Eye Maker AND brow definer in Midnight brown US$2.99 : I am using this brow pencil even after switching out to other brands and still end up loving this pencil. Something about the colour, the shade, the long lastingness and how it lookes somewhat natural on my brows. I have to order this though online from drugstore.com through sprees.

TIPS: Buy when http://icefrostsprees.onsugar.com/ has drugstore.com sprees :)

12. VICHY Normaderm Concentrate $29.00 : This is definitely my HG spot treatment. It treats any pre-pimple bumps or acne bumps and clear or dries it fast by the next day i applied this on. i have recommended many to try this and i got nothing but good news.

TIPS: Buy when Guardian or John little has 20% sale which happens all the time. (Watson, John Little, Guardian, Metro, Robinson)13. Avene Cleanance Gel Cleanser $39.00 : This has a tiny voice that tells me, " I am gonna make your face clean and clear and problem free." And it does! Althought this is not a soapy nor foamy cleanser, i loved that after the wash, my face feels so soft and super duper clean. This PLUS my clinique moisturizibng lotion, it works like magic.

TIPS: Buy when Guardian or John little has 20% sale which happens all the time. (Watson, John Little, Guardian, Metro, Robinson)

AHH! Finally it has reach to the end. This is a LONG Post.  Let me know what products do you repurchase and whether you liked any of these products stated above!

Thanks for reading and i hope this helps!

Tips you never knew about Oily Skin!

Email |

By adorebeauty06 · December 25, 2011

Alot of you ask me questions pertaining to oily skin.

Yes majority of us have oily skin due to the weather or even genetically. I am not dermatologist however i willt ry my best to share the most of what I have researched or learnt about. Oily facial skin, gives you a greasy appearance which has a higher tendency to produce acne and oxidise your make up which makes it darker. I do have oily skin too and i find these tips helps!

So what are the tips about oily skin that many do not know?!

1st,

Use only non-comedogenic moisturizers and sunscreen products this means they're oil-free and won't clog pores.

2nd,

Remove and clean your make up when you are wearing products with SPF to prevent pore clogging.

3rd,

Avoid using cleansers that tend to overdry skin. This paradoxically causes your skin to produce even more oil than usual. Also, be sure not to wash your face too many times a day.

4th,

Follow the recommendations of dermatologists and shower lukewarm water rather than steaming-hot water. Hot water can strip your skin of needed moisture, while cold water can shock your skin.

5th,

Try an oil or water based cleansers (yes oil based!) and avoid cleansers with too many chemicals and unnecessary ingredients in them such as perfumes or alcohol.

6th,

Try using a clay or mud mask. If you have sensitive skin, use white or rose-colored clays.

I hope this helps! If you do know them already! KUDOS to you because you have done an amazing research yourself! Well share  more tips with me if you have them!

Cuz honey, SHARING IS CARING!!!

Review: TheFaceShop Herb Day Cleansing Wipes

I love make up wipes!

How easy can removing make up be when you are all tired after a day of work and play and all you have to do is wipe and wash your make up away!

HOWEVER!!!

I am allergic to many wet wipes in the market. i break out to Olay, Watsons, Simple and more. Somehow or rather after using the third piece, my face tend to get bumps on it and redness.

I wanted to try The Face Shop make up wipes just because of its cute, fat bulky and fancy textured packaging at the price of $14.90 which has about 50 sheets. But there is the mini one which has 20 sheets, priced at $5.90. AHH! I thought! This is brilliant! So i paid for one and was really hoping it would work on it. I mean it is made of organic ingredients.

So i took it home and tried it on my face. I had to give GREAT credits that the scent of the wipes is AH-MAYZING! The scent of it leaves me refreshing every single wipes.  And it has YET to give me any reactions on my face. The wipe is big enough to cover my face and it is rather thick that made me able to wipe it double-y clean. Both sides that it.

ANother amazing point on this wipe is that it can remove gel liner/ liquid eye liner which need oil remover to remove. This wipes did that job nicely. I am in love.

I SO RECOMMEND YOU TO TRY THIS! amazing product to remove your make up!
