This is the long awaited review that many of you might have want to read about. It is the infamous Make Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder. Initially i got it in a wrong shade. I got it in shade 209, as per below. it is much darker than my shade. I trusted the BA at Sephora for getting my shade right, but i was wrong. I should have tested it well before purchasing because it is a whoping $70! Nonetheless, thank Sephora for being such a good spot for letting me change the shade the very next day because i can't possibly wear it. I had to prove my point to them a couple of times before being able to change the shade. Its crazy! So lesson learnt. Make sure you apply it on your face. Walk under the sun and see if it is your right shade. if not, put it back on the shelves.
So i changed to the shade which matches me perfectly, shade 207-Golden Beige. Comprises of 0.35oz of product.
Lets go to the product description shall we?
What it is:
A long-lasting, oil-free mattifying powder foundation for normal to combination skin types.
What it is formulated to do:
Provides a shine-free finish that covers blemishes and other imperfections and perfectly evens out the skintone.
-A testing panel composed of twenty-two adults (via 24 patch test) showed this product to be non-irritating.
Under the pan, you will see a sponge provided by MUFE. It is almost like a standard sponge however this sponge works like a charm. I do not know if MUFE sells the sponge specifically for the powder but i am curious if other sponges works as well.
My experiences:
Application Wise- I have tried applying it with a buffing brush and i find that the powder can really caked up! I got cakey lines on my forehead and my under eye area. However, when i apply it with the sponge and roll it on my face, it works superb. This might vary with different people. it really boils down to personal preference. But i love the sponge application. Smooth and gives me an amazing coverage.
Shade- The foundation does not have a great yellow undertone to it which MAC tend to have in many of their foundation. it is yellow tone and suits olive skintone just fine. However amongst the yellow undertone that it has, there is a slight pink tone to it too which after oxidation settles in just fine with the rest of my skintone especially on my neck. My MAC Shade is NC40-42. Again i suggest you to swatch it and test it on your face first before purchasing.
Coverage- This is my favourite. I love to tell this to all my readers. The best part. Coverage is medium to full coverage. Depending on how much you layer them. You can pack them together and create that full coverage. You can see how just one application can give me the good coverage as per the image below. P/S I applied Revlon Photoready Concealer at my under eye area.

Long-Lasting- Yes it is long lasting. After about 8 hours, my T-zone were a tad oily due to working in an air conditioned environment. But nothing a blot paper or powder can't fix it. Around my cheeks and chin, i can still see that it was still mat and my blemishes or scars dont appear.
Reactions- So far so good. There are extreme reaction to my sensitive face. I do not experience breakouts after using this product.
So my overall ratings:
Definitely recommend it to you! Worth every penny. It is great for ladies who love powder foundations and have oily skin. This works like a charm.
Since I am already taking photo of my before and after foundation application. I thought why not, sync in with a FACE OF THE DAY! haha! Kills two birds with one stone! But nono don't kill a bird ok? So here it is! I went to the Gala Premiere of the movie, BRAVE by Pixar, and heres what i had on.
