Review: My Brown Brows? KPalette Brow Mascara in No.02

By adorebeauty06 · April 4, 2013
I dyed my hair months ago and had a lighter shade. I have been searching high and low for a brow product that would hold my hairs and lighten the shade of it to blend it well with my hair colour.

So what exactly did i used on my brows?I was walking at KLCC last 2 weekends ago and I went to Watson in hope of finding Rimmel Airy Fairy but sadly enough the whole display was not stocked. But then as I was walking, i bumped into a brow product.

Its the Kiss Me KPalette Heavy Rotation Brow Mascara! I bought it for RM35 (SGD$14.30). Affordable much! I went to sasa or watson here in Singapore and I could not find it. However i do find a dupe from Kate and Canmake. So maybe you girls can reach for them as well.

Breaking down, the size of the bristles are really helpful in terms of brushing my thin brow hairs into places. It has a bulky screw top to the mascara that makes the grip of the wand more stable and easily to control every strokes. The colour looks very orange on the wand but fret not, it won't look too orangey when applied to your black brows.
This is the before and after look.
My suggestion is, upon applying the product on your brows, use it very lightly on the brow and do not double coat it because it will clump and look very wet and super UNNATURAL! It is very not flattering. Keep this in mind because its important!
For you girls who have brown hairs, get your brow shade close to it! It will compliment! Trust me!

Thanks for reading!
xoxo!

Review: YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick

By adorebeauty06 · February 12, 2013
Thanks to my dearest ex-intern, she bought me this lipstick for my birthday last October. She made me THE happiest person just because i LOVE lipstick and I never would buy this lipstick myself and she gave me the opportunity to try this. I went to Ion Orchard outlet and was overwhelm with the array of lipsticks displayed. This is the Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in shade no. 7, Le Fuschia. The lipstick shouts ME! "DIANA!" Tracy, thank you so much!

Product desciptions and shades:

A new-generation lipstick inspired by Monsieur Saint Laurent’s iconic color palette—red, fuchsia and orange—in a collection of captivating couture shades that offer each complexion a customized look. Enveloped in a luxurious gold case designed by Creative Director Stefano Pilati, Rouge Pur Couture speaks elegance. Lips are saturated with intense, stay-true color, thanks to the Coloreveal Technology while natural extracts provide comforting moisture that lasts all day. Provides medium to full coverage with a radiant, satin finish. SPF 15.

((YSL Product Site))

My experience with this lipstick:

The packaging itself speaks for itself. It is sophisticated, so posh and almost grand. That was what i felt everytime i pull this out and apply on my lips. The scent that it has is nothing overpowering. It has a rose scent to it which is really mild and since scent has never bothered or irritate me before, i enjoyed every application because it somewhat lifts my mood up. Maybe its YSL or maybe its the rose scent, i have yet to figure it out. It is 3.8ml of quantity and it has a deboss of the brand YSL on the stick. Its so divine.

Upon application, the lipstick is pigmented. The lipstick glides smoothly on my lips and the pointed tip of the stick allows me to line my lips without using a lip pencil. The colour is pigmented and the formula is certainly not drying. Firstly it is because, it is not a matte finish. it is a rather shiny finish and i like that i does not smea around the corner of my lips hours after using it. Even when i had slight dry and chapped lips, applying this lipstick over does not show those flaws at all.

It does last a good 5 hours however after consuming coffee and breakfast, the lipstick does tend to fade and due to its slippery finish, it tends to go off too and i had to touch it up.
Heres a lip swatch i did for you to see. The colour compliments just about anyone. One of my favourite lipsticks i have ever owned.

Thanks for watching guys!

Oh btw, if you do know the price, please share it with me. I had it as a gift, so that explains clearly why i do not know the price of the lipstick.

Review: Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge Lip Color

By adorebeauty06 · September 2, 2012

I am a huge LIP FAN.

Humongous if i may exagerate. i love anything with colour. I am all about brightening my face up with lip colors. I feel that they complete my look. Eyeliner, mascara and a hot pink or red lipstick and im off the door! The Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge Lip Color are one of the most best invented lip products ever. However there are the pros and cons to these. I will let you know why.

They are priced at $39.00 each at Sephora. On my lips, they looked like this. Lip swatch i say!My personal favourite has to be no.8. i have never had a perfect red for an olive skintone. It has just the right shade of red and orange undertone to it. I am in love and i always feel extra sexy wearing that! No.10 is the top left corner, No. 15 is the bottom left and No. 8 is the bottom right.

My experience:

The pros.

I like the doe-foot applicator since it really help me to line my lips well with the product. It really seems like i applied a lip pencil prior. It is super pigmented, creamy and just so divine. Application was super easy. Since applying red colour on your lips, you do need a great shape to make it look all the more appealing. After applying the lip colour on my lips, i have to let it dry for a good 20 seconds and apply the gloss over. The gloss will help to seal the lipstick and make it last throughout the day. As you can see below, it shows that you can apply the lip product with or without gloss. If there is no gloss over. you can feel that the product kinda am a tad sticky. When i dap my lips together i can feel that it sticks together. So with the gloss, it does not seem to be the problem.
The cons.

Don't get me wrong. The lipstick lasted the whole day. Even after coffee, breakfast and lunch! However i do feel that at the end of the day of not touching up, the lipstick settles on my lines. Sometimes, dry lip lines, if you know what i mean. The outer area of my lips will still have the product, but at the inner side, the product will fade off. Which in comparison to many of my lipsticks, this product really can last long. I do not like how it looked on my lips and how it feels when i wiped my mouth after consuming food. It feels sticky, its uncomfortable and i have to touch it up or it will look super messy and ugly on my lips. So that bothers me abit. But i always touch up to avoid that messy outcome.

Nonetheless, i still adore these lipsticks because it is hassle free. You can bet that you lips will look amazing even after 6 hours of application. Its matte after applying the gloss and it always captures praises from others and a statement look for your everyday make up.

I would definitely recommend to you. This lip product is a genius invention. However i will not recommend to my dry and flaky lips sisters, like me.

Review: Make Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder

Email |

By adorebeauty06 · July 22, 2012

This is the long awaited review that many of you might have want to read about. It is the infamous Make Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder. Initially i got it in a wrong shade. I got it in shade 209, as per below. it is much darker than my shade. I trusted the BA at Sephora for getting my shade right, but i was wrong. I should have tested it well before purchasing because it is a whoping $70! Nonetheless, thank Sephora for being such a good spot for letting me change the shade the very next day because i can't possibly wear it. I had to prove my point to them a couple of times before being able to change the shade. Its crazy! So lesson learnt. Make sure you apply it on your face. Walk under the sun and see if it is your right shade. if not, put it back on the shelves. So i changed to the shade which matches me perfectly, shade 207-Golden Beige. Comprises of 0.35oz of product.

Lets go to the product description shall we?

What it is:
A long-lasting, oil-free mattifying powder foundation for normal to combination skin types.

What it is formulated to do:
Provides a shine-free finish that covers blemishes and other imperfections and perfectly evens out the skintone.
-A testing panel composed of twenty-two adults (via 24 patch test) showed this product to be non-irritating.

Under the pan, you will see a sponge provided by MUFE. It is almost like a standard sponge however this sponge works like a charm. I do not know if MUFE sells the sponge specifically for the powder but i am curious if other sponges works as well. My experiences:

Application Wise- I have tried applying it with a buffing brush and i find that the powder can really caked up! I got cakey lines on my forehead and my under eye area. However, when i apply it with the sponge and roll it on my face, it works superb. This might vary with different people. it really boils down to personal preference. But i love the sponge application. Smooth and gives me an amazing coverage.

Shade- The foundation does not have a great yellow undertone to it which MAC tend to have in many of their foundation. it is yellow tone and suits olive skintone just fine. However amongst the yellow undertone that it has, there is a slight pink tone to it too which after oxidation settles in just fine with the rest of my skintone especially on my neck. My MAC Shade is NC40-42. Again i suggest you to swatch it and test it on your face first before purchasing.

Coverage- This is my favourite. I love to tell this to all my readers. The best part. Coverage is medium to full coverage. Depending on how much you layer them. You can pack them together and create that full coverage. You can see how just one application can give me the good coverage as per the image below. P/S I applied Revlon Photoready Concealer at my under eye area.

Long-Lasting- Yes it is long lasting. After about 8 hours, my T-zone were a tad oily due to working in an air conditioned environment. But nothing a blot paper or powder can't fix it. Around my cheeks and chin, i can still see that it was still mat and my blemishes or scars dont appear.

Reactions- So far so good. There are extreme reaction to my sensitive face. I do not experience breakouts after using this product.

So my overall ratings:Definitely recommend it to you! Worth every penny. It is great for ladies who love powder foundations and have oily skin. This works like a charm.

Since I am already taking photo of my before and after foundation application. I thought why not, sync in with a FACE OF THE DAY! haha! Kills two birds with one stone! But nono don't kill a bird ok? So here it is! I went to the Gala Premiere of the movie, BRAVE by Pixar, and heres what i had on.

Review: Revlon Photoready Concealer

By adorebeauty06 · July 21, 2012

CONCEALER! Who doesn't love concealer?! they do wonders huh! I want to do a review on my highly raved and love concealer from Revlon. It is inexpensive and I had both my sisters buying and stocking this up while one of them were in Singapore. It is priced at $19.90. Get it while Watson has 20% off. Its worth while.

Product info:

All over face concealer helps erase imperfections and camouflage dark undereye circles

Full yet undetectable coverage

Photochromatic pigments bend, reflect and diffuse light

SPF 20My Experience:

The concealer which has SPF does help however products with SPF do tend to give you the white cast when taking photos with flash. This concealer does not do that at all. Thats why im in love. The concealer has an amazing creamy texture and consistency to it which makes application alot easier. It does not seem to melt easily which happens to other concealer of mine. All i did was draw my under eye lightly, and blend it out with my ring finger. And vouila! Once i set it with powder, it just looked perfect!

I took this photo when i was in Yogyakarta last Apr/ May and heres what i meant by perfection of concealer. I always loved how concealer made my face alot fresher and more glowy.

If you want to see the breakdown of the before and after. Here you go! The coverage is from medium to full. It depends on how much product you apply and how many layers you put on. It blends really well and it does caked up nor settles on my lines at the end of the day. However the only con is that, it last a good 8-10 hours. Right after that, you could somewhat see your under eye appearing again. :( But other than that, i pretty much love this. its really easy to apply either you are at home or travelling. Loves the stick concept.

Overall Ratings:

I definitely recommend this to ladies who just started make up or for people who loed a full coverage concealer.

Review: Benefit They're Real! Mascara

Email |
|
By adorebeauty06 · June 17, 2012

Do you know that Benefit in Singapore is highly overpriced? That is why i never really want to purchase anything from Benefit locally. However, i got the mascara online and it cost me US22 only! I've heard so much rave on how amazing this mascara works and how it became a HG for many youtubers. So i caved in and bought one wanting to try and see if it works on me too. So lets start with the product description shall we?

Product Description:

They're real! lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts & separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!

What else you need to know:
94%
 saw dramatic length & volume*
90% saw base-to-tip curl*
94% saw visible lift*
100% saw long-wearing results*The wand is unique as it has a wide bristle with shorter bristles at the tip for under eye application. Its like mini combs. That is the unique part of the mascara.

My experience:

Firstly, I am going to talk about the mascara. There is no strong scent to it. Upon application, it seperates my lashes (As you can see below), and lengthens it. The wand makes applying mascara alot easier as i do not even need to wiggle it in a zig zag motion to coat my lashes with the mascara. It glides easily as i stroke it upwards and the formula stick on my lashes nicely. However when i apply it too near to my lash line, the wand hit and hurts my lash line (skin). It pokes and i felt the pain which makes my eyes shut immediately, in return having all the mascara smudges on my under eye. THAT is to be avoid at all cause. Do not apply it too close to your lash line. (lesson learnt.)

I like the pointy tip which has short bristles as it helps to apply lashes as close to my tear duct. You can see all my lashes were coated with mascara which does not happen that often. The mascara did not help me in curling my lashes as you can see. Its almost straight.
You can see here too. Minimal curl but it does lengthens and do not clump at all.

I may have owned the best mascaras in Asia, the Dollywink Mascara, Maybelline Falsies Mascara and Loreal 4D Architect Mascara. These mascaras hands down, works the same or even better than the Benefit They're Real. They provide length, volume(which i never mentioned on they're real) and curl. They are also much cheaper compared to SG Benefit mascara which is sold at $48 each. I just dont see the hype in this mascara. I can say Dollywink mascara is 10 times better and that is definitely my HG. But the sucky thing to it is that it bleeds. Benefit They're real mascara does not at all. At such a high price, i don't recommend my readers to buy as it might perform slightly above average for you.

My Ratings:

I wont repurchase.

FOUND!: Sariayu "Moistpome" Lipsticks (Batam)

By adorebeauty06 · June 3, 2012

We were at batam over the weekends for a short mini getaway also "comemorating" (haha) our 7th Year Anniversary of being together. We had so much fun being in a tour heading to places like the factory outlet, massages, seafood lunch, temple visits and more. Our hotel happened to be located at the heart of the city which we adore. And across the road, is Nagoya hill Shopping mall. Whats to do when you are back at the hotel after 5pm? SHOPPING of course!Well to be honest, there is nothing to shop there. Alot of copy bags and clothes which look rather skimpy. Otherwise, I am all into cosmetic baby! So i checked out the departmental store, Matahari and there were brands such as Maybelline, Revlon, Loreal, Pixy, Ultima and more. I happened to come across Sariayu because the packaging raised my attention. As i was swatching it, i grew fonder. They were sold for rp27,000 each which is about $3.70 each. INSANE!!! now i start to regret the fact that i just bought 4. Anyways, here are the products.
They come in various colours. Almost 20 different shades. Sariayu also have eyeshadows which does not impress me, they have skincare line too. These are products made locally in Indonesia. So i thought why not give it a try! The packaging is GORGEOUS! And the photos will shows you how great they are.The graphics are truly creative givivng a traditional Javanese cum Batik influence to it. The dates were written as to when they were produced. So thats a good thing. Also expiry dates are on them: 0615 (June, 2015). Brilliant!Heres the swatch. They are called the Moistpome lipsticks.Made up of promegranate extract & mineral. These lipsticks are so soft and moisturising. I don't need to put a lipbalm before applying the lipsticks. It also consist of UV Protection and Vitamin E as an antioxidant. The colours are amazing. The pigmentation is beyond expectation, being soinexpensive. And being a local brand, these babies deserves 5 stars. Kudos Indonesia! How can i not end this raving post without a lip swatch. Heres how it looks!

So, if you go to Batam, head to the departmental store or any cosmetic shop and find Sariayu cosmetics. You will love them!

I got it at Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall, Matahari Departmental Store, Cosmetic Section, Sariayu brand.

Thanks for reading loveS! i will see you soon! Have a good week ahead!

This month, I am greeted by a nice recycling bag which holds all the products that BellaBox has in store for us! I like how i can definitely reuse this for my pads, or my htumbdrive or my make up or even onions in my kitchen! haha! Really! Anyway, heres the sneak peak!
When i loosen up the drawstring, i smell a nice fruity scent. It is the Essential Nuance Airy Shampoo and conditioner. Its the travel size hough. I owned the big shampoo and i loved the scent however i feel its alittle to dry for my hair. But nonetheless, these are amazing for my trip this weekend. Perfect! So whats really in the box? Here it is! Its very refreshing to see new products at my own reach. Example, Macadamia Natural Oil for al hair types. I have yet to try it though but I want to use this after i wash my hair and damp it dry. In the box, there are the followings:

-Elizabeth Arden ceramide gold ultra restorative capsules

- Enavose cellogist youth guard cream

- A sample of the candydoll powder foundation, liquid foundation and make up base

My Experiences:

My experiences with Bellabox. I am honoured and so thankful that i received these boxes from them even though I did not pay for the monthly subscription. Thank you Team Bellabox for sending me these items. I had so much fun. Every opportunity of opening the box is like opening my birthday present! Its full of goodies, items which i never thought were sold in stores. If you have yet to subscribe to Bellabox, do it because you want to try new products in the beauty industry, because you want to get great deals with your money and more! I say, its an investment!

Bellabox is also prompt in sending these parcels. And products came along with attractive vouchers from leading companies. However, it shall stop here. I want to be able to pay for something if it is to come to me on a monthly basis. I seek your understanding in this.

Thank you! xoxo!

Review: Sephora Oil Free Mattifying Foundation

Email |
|
By adorebeauty06 · May 27, 2012

Yes people! THE LONG AWAITED AND HIGHLY REQUESTED review ever. People kept asking me, when are you going to do the review? Do you think i should buy it? Is it really mattifying? Well honey(s)? I am going to asnwer those today! YES TODAY! I have captured photos to show you the products as I undertsnad not man bloggers talk about the brand from Sephora. Well I broke my virgin and bought my first Sephora foundation. I got this at orchard ION Sephora for $27 which is relatively cheaper than many *drugstores can offer in Singapore. Loreal. Revlon and even Maybelline foundation can hike up to $32.90 in price! Thats really insane. Sephora has more than a range of foundation of course, this is just one of it. They have mineral products, liquid foundations, tinted moisturisers and more. The compact is very clean and sleek. You can see your shade via the transparent packaging that it has. It contains 9g which is alot more than the drugstore foundations i have owned. I personaly chose this because i had become tanner ever since i came back form my last trip. At least 1-2 shades darker. However many foundation available at my heartland malls either does not have an extensive range of colours or has too many yellow tone on them that made me look very off. This foundation has at least 2 more darker shade than the one i got. The shade is have is MAT TAN, D35. It promises oil free and of course the magic work in the beauty industry "mattifying" totally got me.In the beginning, upon bringing it to the cashier, i shook the compact and felt as if the pan was loose in the inside. Little did i know it comes with a mirror at the back of the pan when you flip it and a black sponge too! It almost reminds me of the Maybeline True Match Powder which alot of people raved about.

Well enough talking about the product, here comes my experience.

First time i tried this powder, I used it alone after my sunscreen lotion, with the black sponge that was provided. The colour of the product matches my skintone so well that i literally had trouble finding it on my face (haha!). After applying, i do see minimal result if you can see on the above image. You can still see my spots and my lines. It practically look like i just powdermy face slightly. There is absolutely no coverage on my face. If you ask me, it is a sheer coverage. At the end of the day, it really looked like i wore nothing on my face in the first place.

So the next time I tried it, I thought, why not set this with a foundation. And i did! The first photo of this blog post, is the result of setting my liquid foundation (Maybelline Mineral Power Liquid Foundation in Honey) with the powder. It does gave me a flawless finish and my face mattifies alot. However if you ask me, it does not last too long. My face ended oily as usual at the end of the day since the weather is really hot and humid. But this goes to show the product does not work that well.

The following times, i apply it with a kabuki brush but to no avail as it does not give me a medium coverage that i wanted. Which is rather frustrating after a while. So what do i use this as now? Just a setting and touching up powder. I don't want this to go to waste. Neither do i want to use it as its own as i really look like i wore nothing.

So adorebeauty readers? Heres the rate.

My final rating for this product:

You can do without this. Really sad.

Sorry guys. I wanted to give you good review on it but it failed badly.

Any of their range that you loved and want me to find out? Share it down below!
