I did not even know there was a sale until I saw FacesBySarah posted it up on Instagram. So i posted it up on my Page. The story goes like this, if you are a member card holder, you are entitled to a 20% off purchase storewide. It is ridiculous how easy to be a member. Just SIGN UP! It was perfect timing since everyone just got their pay! haha! The queue was super long however Adib was kind enough to queue for me while i hunt fo rmy stuffs. So it was not that bad after all. :)

Anyway, after knowing about the sale, i got busy until these pretty ladies came to me and say hi! Thanks Seri & Nadia! I appreciates it alot! We managed to talk and even share what goodies we got! Nice! I get super happy it made me wanna buy more in store! haha! Here they are! They deserve a special slot in my blog. A BIG THANK YOU! You both are part of the reason why Adorebeauty is alive till today. After 3 years!
So what did I get from the sale? I took the opportunity to try new things and also to stock up! I instantly went to Make Up For Ever when i knew about the sale. A MUST HAVE, are their rouge artist range. I got myself the MAT 5. I loved how mauve it looked and how natural it looked on me. Lip swatch is on the first image as shown above, extreme top left corner. THAT was when i had it on. Love love love.It almost looked similar in real life when comapring with the MAC Cosmo lipstick, which was my HG lipstick ever but i think MAT 5 is prettier. MAC....~ move aside. And then, on the stock-up list, I got two of the items. The urban decay primer potion and Benefit They're Real lashes! I know i know, i told you all i hated it, but after a while i have to amdit it grew on me and it just makes my lashes looked super long PLUS it is one of the mascara i have tried that does not bleed on my under eye area. These items are really worth to buy after the sale. Taking opportunity is the key to any sale. haha! Speaking like a pro~.Talking about opportunity, i took it up this time and caved in my temptations. Finally. I welcome you, Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer in my life, my vanity, my make up drawer. All rise. This is epic really. I wanted this for the longest time and finally i grabbed it. I got it in shade sand and i tried it on my chin earlier on and i like it. I can't wait to wear it on my face tomorrow! THIS IS A MUST DO REVIEW PRODUCT. Please remind me if i forgot. haha!
The shade that I got. I thought Almond was my shade but its too dark for me now. So best is to swatch it on my chin and see if it is the right colour for you.

THAT IS ALL FOLKS!

Sale is from 1 NOV - 5 NOV 2012

I was glad to post up a blog right after i came back from my shopping spree. Thanks for reading! OH! Btw, what did you get?!

Review: Make Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder

By adorebeauty06 · July 22, 2012

This is the long awaited review that many of you might have want to read about. It is the infamous Make Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder. Initially i got it in a wrong shade. I got it in shade 209, as per below. it is much darker than my shade. I trusted the BA at Sephora for getting my shade right, but i was wrong. I should have tested it well before purchasing because it is a whoping $70! Nonetheless, thank Sephora for being such a good spot for letting me change the shade the very next day because i can't possibly wear it. I had to prove my point to them a couple of times before being able to change the shade. Its crazy! So lesson learnt. Make sure you apply it on your face. Walk under the sun and see if it is your right shade. if not, put it back on the shelves. So i changed to the shade which matches me perfectly, shade 207-Golden Beige. Comprises of 0.35oz of product.

Lets go to the product description shall we?

What it is:
A long-lasting, oil-free mattifying powder foundation for normal to combination skin types.

What it is formulated to do:
Provides a shine-free finish that covers blemishes and other imperfections and perfectly evens out the skintone.
-A testing panel composed of twenty-two adults (via 24 patch test) showed this product to be non-irritating.

Under the pan, you will see a sponge provided by MUFE. It is almost like a standard sponge however this sponge works like a charm. I do not know if MUFE sells the sponge specifically for the powder but i am curious if other sponges works as well. My experiences:

Application Wise- I have tried applying it with a buffing brush and i find that the powder can really caked up! I got cakey lines on my forehead and my under eye area. However, when i apply it with the sponge and roll it on my face, it works superb. This might vary with different people. it really boils down to personal preference. But i love the sponge application. Smooth and gives me an amazing coverage.

Shade- The foundation does not have a great yellow undertone to it which MAC tend to have in many of their foundation. it is yellow tone and suits olive skintone just fine. However amongst the yellow undertone that it has, there is a slight pink tone to it too which after oxidation settles in just fine with the rest of my skintone especially on my neck. My MAC Shade is NC40-42. Again i suggest you to swatch it and test it on your face first before purchasing.

Coverage- This is my favourite. I love to tell this to all my readers. The best part. Coverage is medium to full coverage. Depending on how much you layer them. You can pack them together and create that full coverage. You can see how just one application can give me the good coverage as per the image below. P/S I applied Revlon Photoready Concealer at my under eye area.

Long-Lasting- Yes it is long lasting. After about 8 hours, my T-zone were a tad oily due to working in an air conditioned environment. But nothing a blot paper or powder can't fix it. Around my cheeks and chin, i can still see that it was still mat and my blemishes or scars dont appear.

Reactions- So far so good. There are extreme reaction to my sensitive face. I do not experience breakouts after using this product.

So my overall ratings:Definitely recommend it to you! Worth every penny. It is great for ladies who love powder foundations and have oily skin. This works like a charm.

Since I am already taking photo of my before and after foundation application. I thought why not, sync in with a FACE OF THE DAY! haha! Kills two birds with one stone! But nono don't kill a bird ok? So here it is! I went to the Gala Premiere of the movie, BRAVE by Pixar, and heres what i had on.

Flawless Beauty with BellaBox (April Edition)

I have no idea this would come to the mail but it did. Thank you so much Bellabox for sending me this parcel to try yet another bellabox and experience the wonders of unexpected goodies to be received and play around with. I received ths mid April and i hadn't had the time to really play with it because i was busy travelling. And so here I am came home from my trip and sat down to scan through the products that were sent to me and were not shown much love. One of them is the pretty peach box sitting in the corner of my wardrobe. April Bellabox.

I did talk about the first Bellabox I received back in February here. I even included a HOW-TO post there too.I was surprised by how heavy it weighed upon receiving the parcel!  Little did i know there were two liquids in the box. Nicely packed by  Bellabox. It contained the below:

Enavose H20sis Black Tea Quench Mask (extreme right)

Benefit Cosmetics Hello Flawless Oxygen Foundation in Honey (second from the right)

Lemongrass House Shower Gel (middle with the red cap)

Maison Francis Kurdijan (top right corner)

Kinohimitsu Collagen Drink (Left)

Head on to bellabox.sg for more details!
This are the products without its packaging. Nice! I am quite shocked with this one. It states " perfumed life 24/7" Are you saying this will last the whole day? Either ways, it really smells very alluring! Super sexual too! I feel super sexy when i spray it on me. At the end of the day i can't really smell myself but i do have compliments from my colleagues on the smell. YUM! Sexy! APOM  Pour Femme Perfume. On to the next nice smelling product, it is the lemongrass house rose absolute shower gel. I have yet to try it on myself but the smell is so good, i wish they have cologne which has the same scent, or even a hand lotion of the same scent. The scent  is so relaxing. Almost aromatherapeutic. And i got a $5 gift voucher too!
My benefit foundation came in not too long after i received the bellabox. Toasted Beige is the perfect colour for me but i received honey instead which is a tad too light for me. So i thought, why not i give it away! WOHOOO! Yes i am letting you try this foundation. Amazing way to determine to buy or not to buy. As for what i think about this foundation. I will be doing a seperate review on it :)This is a little mini giveaway! I am sharing the love! As i mentioned since day 1, sharing is caring! :) If you think this is your shade, then enter you email below! I cannot guarantee whether it is your shade. I suggest you google or swatch it in stores!

Giveaway open till 8pm, 12 May 2012!

Thanks for reading dearest!

Review: Revlon Photoready 2-Way Foundation Compact

Email |

By adorebeauty06 · March 11, 2012

I always wanted to buy this foundation from the moment i saw it out in stores. I heard so much raved on the photoready liquid foundation which works so well on many. So why not try the foundation powder.I wanted to find the review online before buying it, but there isn't one that i can trust. So heres my OFFICIAL review. Hopefully to be one of the few that helps.

I bought it from the sale at Guardian for 20% less. So that explains the price I bought which was $5 less. I bought it in medium beige which is one shade lighter than the darkest shade. I can't remember what the shade is exactly. The powder, when swatched in stores, was pigmented. It blends really well on the back of my hand too. First impression, was definitely a GO.The product offers SPF 19 which is not relatively high but it helps to protect you from direct sunrays. Consisting 10.5g, it will take a while for me to get through it. The sleek black packaging made it look all high-end.
Unlike many of the powders that i have, this compact is not powdery at all. Once swiped, I don't even realized i had powder on.

Heres my experience:

This compact can be used wet or dry. I used this dry and I have to say i like the formula. It is smooth and it applies well on my face. No dry patchy feeling on my face. Neither did it caked up after hours using it. I wanted to go on with good points on this foundation, however you cannot expect amazing coverage with this product. Upon 5, coverage i would rate it only 2/5. I did a zoomed in of before and after foundation. And heres the ultimate result. Redness are slightly covered but not entirely. Blemishes were still seen after foundation.

This foundation did helped to mattify my face and made me look slightly brighter than usual. It also does have a pink undertone to it that sometimes bother me. It does not oxidise on my face. IN COMPARISON to my Kate mineralize powder which i love, this foundation lasted a little longer. Roughly about 8 hours. My face was less oily at the end of the day too. All in all, I wouldnt say i love this foundation. I dont hate it either. I am still having a mixed feeling with this. Its a love/hate relationship. I used this almost everyday and i have no complains. It does make my complexion better than without it though.

So overall I would rate it I hope this helps!

xoxo

Picked Up: Revlon Photoready & Lip Butters

By adorebeauty06 · February 11, 2012

I wanted to make an honourable mention on this haul because these are coincidentally Revlon products which came and bought at the same time.If you can remember Zee, who came for the beauty xmas party, she asked me whether i wanted anything from US since she was heading there for her holidays! (JEALOUS MUCH!) Anyway, i thought why not get the lip butters since it was not available in Singapore. So she got me those and I am so happy and i appreciate her effort to get it even though she mentioned it was a tough one to find these babies. Zee, thank you once again babe. I loved them alot!

But as you all know now, these lip butters are available right here in Singapore, at your John little near you :) These are the two which Zee got for me.

I like how strawberry shortcake has blue sparkles in them! Yum! These are the swatches below. I only tried Strawberry shortcake this morning and i love how creamy the texture it! However it does not last that long either. Lets see how it perform in time to come :)Next product was on sale while i was finding a sanitary pad at Guardian. And i saw this deal! it was $23.90 only! I was always swatching this powder and was wondering how it worked. So i took the risk and bought it. I will do a review on this powder because i could not find a soul who did a review on this. I shall do it to let you know my opinions :) Ive got it in medium beige which is almost close to early tan. But do not quote me on that ladies!Hope you like this episode of picked up stuffs! Let me know if you are interested in the review for the powder as above! :)

Review: ELF HD Translucent Loose Powder

Email |
|
By adorebeauty06 · November 24, 2011

I bought this along with an elf contour and blush powder which i have done a review on, from smoochiezz.com's flea market which was at Cathay. It was $12 if i am not wrong or was it $6. Anyway it was a good buy because i have always wanted to try the powder after seeing many Youtubers raving about it. It was even compared to MUFE HD translucent powder!

So when i got it i was super duper excited! HOWEVER, I hated the packging. Not only it is bulky, but because the powder is so silky smooth and fine, it always messed up the rim of the jar such as below. The sifter's hole is too big for the powder which always pours out too much product at a time. This is recommend to pour the powder on the lid and not topple the powder over and then open the lid because there will be a HUGE ASS MESS!Here was what i meant. (below)

But anyways, what was my experience on it? See that mini smile on my face? Its a good sign! READ on...

The powder is very soft. It is even softer than a flour. It is unscented, it really is fine. Thats is what i can say about the powder's texture. My bristles caught the powder easily and when i roll it on my eyes, it feels so light as if i do not even put a powder on my face. I closed my eyes, and set my face using a roll motion and a sweeping motion on my face. And when i opened my eyes, my face was just flawless. Felt like i never put any powder on my face but it kept my face matte and just flawless. I will be lying if i tell you i cant see my pores but yes i still do. But there weren't any residue of powder which makes my face cakey.

The powder works really amazing. I tried "not" rolling the brush on my face and sweep it across my face and STILL it works. For its price, it is worth the money having a setting powder which makes you look finished. However the down side is that the mattifying part did not last more than 5 hours. But at a price like that~?! honey! it is good enough i would say!

If you are on a budget, this product will do amazing for you. It has not made my face burnt, or irritated or brokeout. So its a good to go!

My ratings:

Thanks for reading!

Review: Kate Cosmetics (Powder, Eyeliner, Mascara Base)

By adorebeauty06 · November 6, 2011

These are the images captured for these review. If you want to find out more, watch my video for it because i might have missed some important pointers. These are the two products which i want to clarify and needs images to proof my point. So here it i is! I got this powder in D. They have 4 different shades and i was quite surprise Kate has colours for us tan ladies!

Cut to the chase,

I am in love with the face powder. I love the puff which is so soft and apply the product smoothly. Even with my Sigma flat top kabuki brush, the powder gave me the coverage i want. HOWEVER, this does not last all day. After 6 hours, i find the powder fades and my face tend to get oily. Watch my video for more info!

On the eyeliner pencil, i love that it is so soft and gel like "kohl" pencil. It does not irritate my eyes. Upon applying no tugging of my eyelid was done and i like that it was super black and easy to apply. However, it bleds. At the end of the day, i looked like a panda. Check this image out, if you know what i mean.

Nonetheless, on this video, you can find my review on the mascara base and the lash eyeliner too! Enjoy!

Got any question? Dont be afraid to ask!

Picked up: Mustafa Yey! (Gabrini, Neutrogena, L'oreal)

By adorebeauty06 · October 18, 2011

yeah! i am as excited to share this with you as much as you are when you hear MUSTAFA HAUL! Anyways, lets get away from the word HAUL and use PICKED UP instead. So i went to Mustafa last weekend and i got some stuffs and am excited to try them!

If you are looking for amazing pigmented lipgloss, try Gabrini. I am in love with those! They are so lightweight and the colours offered are to die for!

OH! I must share this- I bought the nrutrogena acne clear wash, and while my face became better in terms that my bumps seemed to minimize and my face was so smooth, it made my eyes all swollen and i had irritations on my neck! That bad! It was the only new product i used in my routine, and yes. Unfortunately again i wasted my money to buy a poison for my face. Dangz!

So yes, skip it if you have sensitive skin!

Anyway, enjoy the video!
