I was invited to the introduction of the Make Up For Ever TechniColor Collection last month and was super glad to have the opportunity to head down to their newly opened Pro Loft. Liza Haron was the MUA for the day and i was honored to be sitting right in front of the demo! Speaking of kiasu! I was intrigued especially when a make up company or brand introduces bright colours. Especially risking marketing it to Asian countries. Kudos to them!
On the demo set, Liza had prepped the model's face with foundations and so on. So she showed how we could do a look turning from day to night with colours! YES! Indeed. The eyeshadows are super pigmented. One swipe and you can see your fingertips full of pigments. Its not powdery either. The palette is made up of 08 colours 03 of which are "in-your-face" colours and the other 05 are more softer to tone any bright eye colour more wearable. All shades are matter except the last shade on the right side, which is teh yellowish beige. It has a slight sheen to it. This is what Liza have came up with. Amazing. Its a wonder how this look fresh and youthful at the same time.

She not only uses the palette, but she uses the Aqua Eye pencil for the eyeliner and bottom eyeliner and also the eye prime before she applies the shadows. These are some of the products that compliments the look. There are prices too on every products listed.
While everyone was enjoying the comfort of the studio and talking to the friendly people from MUFE, others were all busy catching up with other bloggers and taking pictures of the products. It was very fun!My rendition of the look? I could apply all colours in one look  however, I want to make it as wearable as possible. So here is what i came up with. Almost safari inspired. I used the colours in apple green, yellow, turqouise, white, espresso and yellow beige.I really had fun over at the product launch, and of course watching the demo as well. The palette is already out at Sephora or the Pro Loft.

Retails at $75.00. Grab it whilst the collection is stil ON! :)

I guess you know by now that i dont apply much make up when i head out. But i always ALWAyS take the opportunity to make extra effort when im invited to a wedding. i would like to straight away go to my face of the day post. BUT i wanted to pause it all for awhile and shared that when i was taking out my eyeshadow, and visit my eyeshadow drawer, i found that my NYDC Urban Decay palette, are full of fungus!
Yikes!!!
It was horrid. I threw the most "infected" one away and i scraped off the top layer of all the eyeshadows and spray and sanitized it with alcohol. I felt "so sayang" to throw them all away! I agreed there are shelf lives to make up however my room is just too humid to store them! So the place you store them plays a part too. Keep that in mind!

Review: L'oreal La Couleur Infallible Iridescent Finish

Since GSS is still going on, you might get the chance to get this 10-20% off. They are sold at $14.90 each which i feel is very affordable. They comes in about 6 colours. Correct me if i am wrong, but these are products you MUST NOT miss. I might giveaway the whole idea of reviewing these babies but i want to tell you how this works.

I got the shade Forever Pink which is a metallic pink with tiny silver glitters.  It is packed together in a plastic jar which consist of 3.5g og product. This might last you a year to finish. Next one is, Flashback Silver which is a purplish undertone silver with silver glitters. These are the swatches. Pigmented and has a smooth "paste" to it.It is a cream base eyeshadow. However it is not too creamy when apply.

My Experience:

First time applying it, i was shocked at how smooth the consistency is on my eyelid. No tugging involved. The colour came right off. When touching the product, there is no dipping needed. Just rub on the cream shadows slightly and you get a massive amount of colour which can fill up your entire lids. I tried this without an eye primer, and to my surprise, there were no smudging or shifting or fading of colour. It is vibrant even after 14 hours of application. However, i do have slight creasing lines which i can easily rub my eyelids and its gone. So for me, i can definitely have the options of not putting eye primer before this. I love this product so much, now that i am writing this, i feel like buying them now! I used it on my sister the other day when she goes out for a date, and she agrees that it lasted for her too at the end of the day.

Overall Ratings:Highly Recommended.

Have you tried these? What are you experience?

Adorebeauty's 2011 Best picks: Eyeshadows

AHHH... every make up junkie loves eyeshadow. We spend so much time practising matching colours to compliment our eyecolour or skintone, blending to accentuate your eyes better and more. Eyeshadows are what i love to wear and i feel way done after applying one however last year, since i am blogging this today (1st post in 2012-yeah!), i did not show much love to any of them. Especially the colour families. I neglecte dthem completely. Its definitely out of my comfort zone to apply colours on my daily make up days. Im more of a mascara, eyeliner and loud lipsticks. So here it is my top eyeshadow picks. These are the colours which i use the most and the ones i reach out for when i am out for occassions!Starting and warming up to my very first palette i have been ADORING. Sleek oh so special palette is a must have for EVERYONE. Its like a cheaper version of NAKED however this is beyond comparable in shade wise, but for the quality, honey, its EQUAL.I am surprise i rarely or even barely touched my MAC eyeshadows which for years i have been investing my money on them. However the two shades which i used the most are of course "barely-there" colours, soft brown and all that glitter. Also, for highlight, BH eyeshadow does the trick.MJ surprises me this year. Not only they surprise me with their amazing mascaras, but this eyeshadow here was shown much loved. Especially the shimmery white shade which i dap on my eyelid and it gave me just the right sparkles needed. Its not messy either. Amazing for everyday look. In fact, im gonna wear this tomorrow. :)
WHO COULD FORGET STAGE? Stage closes its final outlet at Bugis mid this year and sold many of their items 80% less. its sad that they are relaly entirely gone in this sunny island because i do love pretty much 60% of their products. Now, we could only buy them in Malaysia, KL. Dont ask me where honey. Cuz i aint got a clue. However i do know they were used to be at KLCC. So if you know, do share it with us ok? I love this shade because its a perfect warm brown for an olive skintone like me.I was also honored and so happy that i get to visit Inglot mid last year at Sunway Pyramid.
Such an amazing feeling to head in a boutique full of colours and new products. Inglot has high intensity and pigmented eyeshadow, and i owned 3 of them. They are one of my favs because a little product goes a long way. Blends great too.Next on, I love MAC lovestone eyeshadow. I find that these eyeshadows do not have the best pigmentations but lovestone is a beautiful warm cranberry-purple which matches my skintone so well. I love to do a smokey with this eyeshadow. Finally, i gotta show you at least some colours right. So here are three eyeshadows which i love mainly because of their pigmentation. However i do not like urban decay eyeshadow when it comes with shimmers. Its damn messy and nasty. The glitter will fall off. And i mean it will definitely be on your cheekbones or cheeks or even on your cupids bow at the end of the day! haha! seirously! So here are the swatches! They do look different on white paper but at leats you can see how their consistency is :)

What is your favourite eyeshadow? I have yet to own a NAKED palette btu im excited for NAKED2.

Share with us your favs!

Raya Segment Tutorial: Neutral with SLEEK OhsoSPECIAL!

By adorebeauty06 · August 25, 2011

This is my final tutorial for my raya segment. I apologize i could not do much tutorial because i was swamped with work and school submissions at the same time. My intentions to do this raya segment is to inspire you girls to look your best for Raya. To love yourself and to look good. I want to spread this love of beauty of mine to you. Hopefully you find this helpful. This weekend will be very busy for me. The final weekend for iftars and i am excited.

So since i just recently bought the Sleek Oh-So-Special palette (i find it hard to type it), i wanted to show you my favourite look from it. In that palette, there is a beautiful black colour. If you want to do all dramatic, instead of applying the dark purple, add black instead. I wanted to do something neutral and light. So here it is. Enjoy the video!

Hows your preparation for Raya?

For me, i tailored my baju pahang BUT that tailor-woman-fellow kept avoiding my calls. This weekend, time to stomp in that shop and show her WHOSE THE BOSS! okok maybe after break fast so that I can still fast during the day. While I am sad that Ramadhan is coming to an end, I am happy that i am coming to the moment where i can seek forgiveness from the people i loved. My sisters Nura is here for raya and she have been busy baking non-stop for raya. Hopefully everything went well!

So, tell me about your preparation!

I picked up 2 items from MAC.

Yeah. so its been a while since i buy anything from MAC. But i was interested in the MSF form the Semi Precious Collection. And boy i didnt know the colour was not for me when i swatched it in stores. I ordered them online through IceFrost sprees. And i spent a total of S$60.00 which as you can see i have saved alot! The msf is selling at S$47 each. Correct me if i a wrong. I do not collect msfs but i do love them as blushes because firstly they can last me forever to use up till i hit pan and they are amazing blushes and bronzers. Well after swatching it myself, it was not that bad. I love the pink area because the green middle "nipple ring"-like xonsist of (pardon my biology term) bluish undertone which my warm skin just do not work well with. So there is very little pink to it but i love how the sheen made me so glowy. The shimmer in the middle area of the msf is rather chunky. Must get?

No. Move along now.Rubenesque paintpot have been my absolute HG eyebase. I can use this baby with just about any colour on top of it and the eyeshadow will look gorgeously metallic. I do however need to use UDPP before it because it will definitely crease on me. This retails at $33. So you do the math. I saved a good $20. :)This is the swatch of it. For all my olive tone sistaz, this is a must get! Its beautiful. You can wear it on its own or layer it with just about any eyeshadow! Can you even see the colour on my cheek? I doubt so! But i still wanna do justice to the product by showing you a picture which i think doesn't help. aahha!

ANyways! Thanks for still reading my blog everyone. This 28th is my 2ND Year Blogging. I will have a post dedicated for it!

LOVE YOU ALL!!!
