A month of my BIRTHDAY! Wasn't as awesome though..my boyfriend still owes me a present. HAAH! okok anyway not to be so spoit, I started off this month with stress knowing my exams is around the corner. Been super busy lately with life. Cant able to resist checking onsugar everyday. It is so addictive! So, I online shopped alot this month as well, mac, nars, nyx, sleek...wow! overwhelming..plus beauty shoppings, drugstore shoppings..oh man..Its bad. Taking a tol on me. I also managed to sell good stuffs form my sale. So thats a heads up.

Apart from that, i really enjoy blogging at such crucial time. I put blog as my REST & REWARD in my exam preparation schedule! haha! That explains my post! Good time management. Well at least for now. So here are my favs of the month! 1. Bobbi Brown Loose Powder in Warm Natural

This was given to me by Linnera when we had our last swap. This powder is amazing. It is a great coverage plus its feels very light on my face. I am not sure of the prcie. You all can stalk her for that. haha!

2. Prestige Skin Loving Mineralize Sun Baked in Rich Bronze

I got this for only AU$5, there was a promotion. So i got one for myself, and my sisters got themselves each too. I think this product is amazing. It is a bronzer which does not darken my face. So i like that. I apply it with my kabuki brush :)

3. NARS Blush in Sin US$25

Bought only at $36 from a flowerpod buyer. I only googled nars sin blush sg and i saw her, instantly i msged her and I GOT IT! So much for a highly raved blush, I feel that its lasting power is INCREDIBLY out of this world. It stayed on beyond any of my blushes can withstand. Colour wise, i am not a fan of plum blushes as it looks muddy and oxidises on me, but this is not at all. Stay as its true colour. I can go on and on...wait for my review ok.

4. MAC Creme Cup CremeSheen Lipstick $28

Not my favourite. But i have been reaching for this instead of my BNB. I think what makes me so attracted to this lipstick is that, it makes my complexion much more lighter when i wear this. And it is truly a colour i don't own myself. So i like that. But the finishes is not my favourite at all. I think lusters are still the best finishes for dry lips..

5. Revlon ColorStay in Natural Cashmere $ 16-$19?

I am not sure of the price. I totally forgot. Anyway, I am sooo getting another one just in case i ran out of it. HAAH! I friggin love it! I can throw all my mac lipsticks and just keep this one. Like REALLY only this lipstick. Its moisturising, the colour is so pigmented, it applies wet and then it turns matte..uhh im in love with this lipstick i can literally have sex with it. :)

6. Napoleon Perdis Jet Black Mascara

Awesome2 mascara. Got it for free from Australia's Madision Magazine. It is amazing. Lengthens, curls, thickens, does not flake, no clumps. The only thing i hate about this is that the  tube is too narrow hence pushing the wand back in makes everything super nasty, like the product are swueezed out of the wand...blerkk!

7. ELF Complexion Brush US$3.50

I love this brush. So soft, so cheap, so good, it does not transfer alot of powder on the face, so its good for loose powder/set powder applications.

8. I Nuovi D27 Disco Eyeshadow $22

I am in love with this. Not only i apply it for my lids, but normal days I apply it as a liner. I pick the colour up and then spray with fix plus for an eyeliner on my lids :)

9. MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack $28

I regretted buying this. Not because of its great excellent quality, but because i bought it too soon. I could have gotten the Holiday set ~ But nonetheless, transforming from my maybelline gell liner to using MAC's blacktrack? I swear i do not want to change anymore. Im sticking with it.

10. Carmex Lip Balm Stick AU$5.95

I adore this. This lip balm is the only product which can take my dead skin on my lips easily after a night of application. In the morning, i can see a layer of my dead skin on my lips, so after brushing my teeth, i brush lightly on my lips to get rid of the skin and IM GOOD TO GO! I really love it. Has a minty feel to it.

Also...

I am also loving my mac palette. Depotting is really effective although i love it in the small pot, but it makes eye application much faster and happier and less stress finding the right colour! Plus, you dont need to plan the colours, just apply and go! Loves! :)

By adorebeauty06 · September 13, 2009

I was tagged from erniewornie from youtube on the most worn products. But i shall break it down to MAC products first. So here they are.

I shall not start with face products. It breaks me out. So, My all time fave, gotta have my

Brunette Bronzer- the sheen it gave me is just awesome. Plus it is long lasting.

Plus my overly worn in all my video is Rubenesque Paint Pot. Truly awesome. Never put on any eye colour without it!

Woodwinked eyeshadow. i could never ever describe this colour. I fell in love the first time i tried it on and Am still loving it. Like my skintone but with a nice bronzy sheen. But does not give colour~...so yeah..you see? I cant describe it.

Highlight is never great without Vanilla pigment. Oh this shiz is crazy. I am sooo going to buy the full size. Love it  love it love it.

Plus my blushes would not look good without my 187 brush which i got it from Bangkok airport. Did i mention i am liking the 224 brush especially for adding highlight plus blending the whole colour out? Amazing.

I wore the selectcover concealer everyday just to finish it up because the coverage is not that great. I CAN still see my dark circles after putting this one. So nothing crazy for me..I will never blend colours as great with out my 217 brush.

Stark naked blush. Oh where do i start. Amazing blush. Thats all. Finally, my look will not be complete with out the miracle water, fix + spray which can be substitute by EVIAN SPRAY! haha!

Thanks for reading!

This will benefit people who went to MAC workshop. We were given this as our goodie bags. And I found another way to use this container. Initially it has two mini fix+ bottles in it. So iw as thinking of other ways to use and and found iT! Wanna see? Scroll lower.

I cover it so that there wont be no dust settling on my brushes. Sometime when im lazy i dont. haha! Anyway, i love how my brushesa re seperate. FACE & EYES.  Apologize i took this when my brushes are all unbath! Anyhoo, below you can see, there is a divider with a base on it. I do not know how to put it in words nor call it. But i call it my section stand. This stand has a base. So all my brushes will settle on it. When i pull it up, it enables me to reach for my short handle brushes easily hence seeing my brushes too.

That was what i meant by my section stand. It has a base which allows my brushes to be pulled up and down. haha!

Now, the height of the stand equates to the height of the container. I hardly could reach my brushes when it is all deep inside. So i put a mini box, to add height for my section stand to be a little much higher for me to grab the brushes with ease.

Tadaa! Simple? So if you have this container, let me know what you are using it for? I put it in this container for now as i do not have space for these babies to settle elsewhere. So, i hope you enjoy it.

Where do you put your brushes at?

Review: MAC 219 Brush

Email |

By adorebeauty06 · July 22, 2009

Here comes brush No.219. This is name the "pencil brush". It is

"For precision shading on lid, in eye crease or along lash line. The soft, smooth fibers of this brush are gathered into a pencil-shaped tip. It is ideal for blending eyeliner into eye shadow to create a smoky looking eye. M·A·C professional brushes are hand-sculpted and assembled using the finest quality materials. They feature birch, linden and ramin wood handles, nickel-plated brass ferrules."

It does look like a tip of a pencil. Coned and narrowed at the tip. You can actually see in the picture above, the bristle are rather coarse. It is stiff for great precise application. Some people might use this as their outer v area and like many of us, would use this for under eye or tearduct application.
Now, i have tried different possible ways to use this. From crease brush to lining the eyes.  It does a great job applying colours on my crease(I do not blend with this brush, incase you are wondering.) as it picks up and packs on colour really well. BUT when I tried smudging my black pencil eyeliner on my lids, It was MAJOR hell! It was DARN PAINFUL for sure! I felt a burning sensation thereafter.  Applying on my tearduct, was nice. It blends well only with a few strokes too. So im happy for that. I also use this as well to set my white eyeshadow in my waterline and it didnt left me tearful.

To compare it with my SASA brush(SGD$8), there are not much difference. I would not dare say its a dupe. But i do not feel you need a 219 brush if you already have the sasa brush. In fact, because of the dome tip the sasa brush has, it makes smudging much more smoother and the effect is nicer. It is also in black, so cleaning would be easier. And the bristles is way smoother, although its packed together.

Above all, I would say, i am satisfied in 219 brush fot the fact that its great for areas in my eyes which i could not reach with other brushes. But it was certainly not as great as the hype was. So yep.

Review: MAC 224 Brush

By adorebeauty06 · July 20, 2009

I got a request from a friend, Fiza on reviewing the last MAC brushes I got. Well, here it is. One of them, is the 224 brush. Like all MAC brushes, it is hand made and are very soft. I have tried this a couple of times now. And I have always loved a brush which can be used for many purposes. And this is definitely not one of them.

Now, I am not saying i am disappointed with it. No doubt it is a great blending brush. But it is only a blending brush. I tried using this for my highlights, and it fails to pack much colour for me. hence, I use it for one task which is blending my overall eyelook to avoid any harsh line :) The brush is rounded at its tip,

Definitely much more flimsy and not dense. It can bend easily. Sometime upon application I find this to be flatter than i want it to be. It is only great for a window wiper motion in between my crease colour and highlight. I would say, if you have other blending brushes, I rather you get the 217 brush rather than this. This brush is pretty unnecessary if you already have the 217 brush. It could not pack on colours and what not. Definitely a brush you can skip on. I like how the bristles are heavenly soft and it does a great job blending out colours and harsh lines. Other than that, it is of no use. I would not grab much of this brush.

Would i buy it again? Nope. :)

REVIEW: Body Shop Retractable Blush Brush

Email |
|
By adorebeauty06 · July 9, 2009

This was given to me by a colleague, Rachael because she don't like this brush anymore. So, i took thinking that I could use this for touching up. So, after washing it, which takes quite a long time to dry, I used this for my blot powder. I have used this for 6 months now."Keep your bag neat and clean with this fluffy brush that disappears into its own handle. Load with powder in the morning for touch ups throughout the day!Size: 0.03kg Price: S$26.90"

My take:

This brush is a synthetic brush with long and soft bristles. It does its job as a on the go brush. But i do not like this. The reason why is because, the brush are too packed together, they barely move. The long bristles makes it harder to swirl on your face. It will only move together throughout your whole face which leades me streaks on my face. Can you imagine, streaky powder? Its aweful! I tried lightly brush over my face and it annoys me that the bristles move together as if you are slapping a carrot on your face. It is stiff and does not spread the powder equally. I thought maybe this is a blush brush, and me using it as a powder brush defeat its purpose. When I apply blush, my blush is very concentrated on one area of my cheek that it does not blend well at all. Very dissapointing brus. The only pros about this product is that the bristles are really soft and its handy for travellng.

Would I buy this again? No. Never.
