Picked Up: First purchase from Shu Uemura

I "HAPPENED" to be at Tangs because my gf wants to get the brows done at Shu Uemura. Well it all started that way doesn't it? I was browsing through the products of course since there was only one BA at the counter and she was busy plucking my gf's brows. So i ventured out on a role to learn more about Shu Uemura's products. I love the extension range of blushes! They range from purples, light pinks, bluish tone pinks to an array of corals! None of the blushes are packed with too many fancy glitters. They were nice to see and to touch too! One of the blush caught my attention. DIRECT attention. It was the vivid orange. The colour is super vibrant and i can't help but to swatch it. It was a major love at first sight. Nothing like what i had in my drawers. It is almost like expensive pink but slightly darker. After the BA put it on me, I was sold instantly. It just made me look radiant and brightens my face after a day of hard work! Loves it! However, the price is not on a friendly side. If you can see below, you need to purchase the packaging in order to carry the blush around. Otherwise, if you have palletes like the Z palettes, this might be good to pop right in there without to pay the addition $14.00. I NEED the packaging because im always on the go. I need this blush with me wherever I go. And that additional $14 was actually a good investment because i brought it out alot of time and i love how mini and light it is.
On to the brows, I was torn in between MAC or shu uemura. And so i thought i wanted to give this highly raved pencil a try. It is funny how it seems like there is no colour coming out from it when you swatch, but when you stroke it on your brow hairs, it fills it up in a way looking like brow hairs! I like the pencil because it gave me the natural hairs i need on my brows. It does not have a wax on the pencil like many brow pencils do so it does not look too "uniformed". The result is deinitely natural and it accentuates your brow hairs and shape.this is how it looked despite my oily face.  I was trying to show you how it looked like at the end of the day. Oh! to add on, it does not oxidise too making my brows look darker at the end of the day. And so we received samples because together, my gf and I accumulated more than $120 worth of products. So we split the freebies to try their products! In addition to that, thanks to Charlene for "over-purchasing" (haha) we both received the Shu Uemura membership card!

I am a happy girl indeed! Haha! Anyway thats all folks!

What did you purchase from Shu Uemura that you really love?!

Review: Benefit Bella Bamba

I have heard alot of rave on this product. Its all about the box packaging which has blush in it. You can swirl in the cute boxes with your blush brush and it will stay put on your face and the yada yada goes... Youtubes raved on Benefit products and in Singapore, the product are way overpriced. So my colleagues and I ordered it through benefit.com and it even offers no tax payment and free international shipping. We spent about $542 so that explains. Anyway on to the product. I love the packaging. No doubt it is by far the cutest blush packaging there is in stores. The chromatic patterns and cute fonts used, it shouts feminine and all girly. I bought this online and have high hopes for it pretty much because i believed those raves. It is a watermelon kind of colour which is why i want to pick this up hoping it looked somewhat different from the coral and pink blushes that i owned. It came with a brush too with a wooden handle. The brush is really cute and has a good grip to it.  The product consist of 8.0g of product which is more than an average MAC blush has to offer. I also love that there is a mirror it in so applying blush can be made easy plus it looked super chic having to take it out of your bag and touch up your blush. Talk about unique! On my cheeks, it looked like this. I like that it gave me a healthy glow. It is almost pink tone on my cheeks but its a warm colour. I like how it apply nicely and blends well on my face.

HOWEVER (jeng jeng jeng jeeeenggg)....

My experiences:

Lets talk about the brush first shall we? I brought this blush to my trip at Jogja and thought you know, i dont need no blush brush cuz the product has one. But little did i realise, that the brush not only apply the product on my cheek, it is hard to see the colour on my cheek. I literally have to apply like about 5 times to see the colours on me. It is pigmented of course, but the brush did only a decent job. Other than that, I realise the gold shimmers settle under my eyes area. Maybe because i applied it on my cheeks and blend with my brush, but then it made the shimmer moves around too. Great! Just great. I looked semi-disco-ball. I did went back and tried with my normal blush brush and it worked. I do not need to use the brush that came with it. Sticking to traditional ways baby!

The blush has a nice scent to it. I like it. Its pleasant. No irritations on my skin. No breakouts since one of the ingredients is talc. The gold shimmer did came off like a glowing agent. It gives a nice sheen on my cheeks looking like i did highlight my face. I have a problem with the product's formula though. It just didnt last. At the end of the day, when I saw my colleagues who wore dandelion on her cheeks and told her that her blush was all gone, I realised mine was all gone too! And at that time it was rather depressing. The product does not last on my cheeks. To give a slight credit to it, it did appear near my "sideburn" area. Leftover residue. I am truly dissapointed. Can you imagine if I had paid $52 for this?

I did a swatch to compare with what i have in my drawers and they are as per below:

Mac Peachtwist- has more gold sheen to it. Gold shimmers.

Chanel Bronze Corail- very coral and matte. Gold shimmers.

Bella Bamba- more pink undertone to it. Gold shimmers.

Ripe Peach- Gold shimmers. Lighter than Chanel Matte.

Not one which can dupe the blush entirely because the shade of the blush is rather unique. I love the colour but the formula is below my expectation.

hmmm.. do you own one? And how do you feel about them?

Share it here ladies/ gentlemen?

Overall Ratings:I say, invest on other brands and you will find one which you wil love.

xoxo

This is what i have accumulated before my trip. Initially my colleague ordered the Benefit cosmetics online and I managed to join in! I really needed nothing from them but hey, why not try new products. So i got the hello flawless oxygen wow liquid foundation in toasted beige. I heard that this foundation is really trending! Everybody starts talking about this. And even my colleague knew it is new in the market. So we both got ourself one of the foundation. I got the bellabamba blush. Wanting to know how good it is. I mean i have never tried benefit's blush. So this is a great opportunity, I say! Also another hyped up product is the They're Real Mascara. I will do a seperate review on them in the futures:)This is the swatch for the foundation. Obviously I am much darker now due to the sun. But anywhoo i have tried this foundation and i must say the coverage is pretty good. These are the new L'oreal Couleur Eyeshadow that is out in stores at $14.90 each! I am stoked! I didnt get any of the last one which was offered here in SIngapore and then they removed it from the display. Now that the new colours are offered, I got 2! yeah for that! Colours which i definitely can wear everyday! These are the swatches on my skintone!I never own any Wet & Wild palettes. I love to see them in hauls but i never get myself to it. Maybe cause i feel like i have those colours. But to even own one for myself, is just a bonus.  I got the Color Icon in Comfort Zone.Thank you so much Lin for giving this to me. I appreciates it alot! I love it now that its with me and I have been playing with it time and time again. Love love love! Thanks Lin!
And finally, since i stalk FacesBySarah for a living (instagram, facebook, youtube, blog...hehee), and the minute she shouted out this product as one of her favourite products, i knew i had to have it! With 20% off from John Little at Jurong Point main atrium, I managed to get it less than $6! It is the Braphy Waterproor Eye Pencil. Usual price is $8.90.

I also got the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Finish for $28.90. I heard so much raves on it so im excited to try it. Also the mini smooth Gatsby wax @ $4.90 only :) cute huh! i needed volume on my layers so that explains.

So yes my fellow readers! These are the accumulated new toys i am so looking forward to play with. Some of which i have gathered my own observance and I shall do reviews on them. Let me know if you have had tried any of the products mentioned above and whether you like them or not :)

Thanks for reading!

Review: MAC Subtle Breeze Mineralized Blush

By adorebeauty06 · February 11, 2012

Presenting you a blush i was in awe when i first saw it through Temptalia.com. It was the perfect blush that i needed. Rosey Pink. Not that idont own one, but many rose blushes that i have are too reddish or too bluish if you know what i mean. I needed the perfect pink on mycheeks. With $35 spent, i thought to myself, this better be good! And so like many blush junkies, we head home and make comparison with our fellow babies kept in those neat drawers. I drew 3 of my toppink blushes and compare the colours and hoping to see if there is a possible dupe as subtle breeze blush is a limited edition item.So here they are! I must say Mac Stark Naked is almost close however it has a bit more red undertone on it then subtle breeze. I love howthe blush is so soft to apply. It is not the most pigmented blush but it blends really well on my cheek. It picks up the right amount of colour which you can never get too much of on your cheeks. And i am shocked that my blush last through the night! Especially outdoor in the humid weather, at Chingay!Ratings:

It is still available in stores now. So get it while it last!

Adorebeauty's 2011 Best picks: Blushes

In the year of 2011, i did not went crazy over blushes. Almost every counter i passed, i missed the blushes section because i knew i had my colours checked and ready for me anytime. I sell blushes which i dont use because i was really into downsizing my make up alot. I want to be able to reach for products i always wear and so far honey, "THESE" are the products i usually rotate through daily basis. But, liek tyra say, only 7 could make it to Adorebeauty's TOP 2011 BEST PICKS" And they are:L to R From top row:

Row 1: Chanel Soleil De Tan- Bronze Corail, MAC Ripe Peach

Row 2: NARS Matahari, Mac Melba

Row 3: La femme Golden Sunset, TheBalm Bahamamamas

Row 4: Bare MInerals in Warmth

These are the swatches for your references!

For blushes, i do not have any brand preferences. As long as they are pigmented and not chalky, its a done deal for me. I love blushes and i feel all girls MUST wear blushes. Its like a bible. MUST HAVE! Blushes makes you look healthy and glowing throughout the day. My only tips for your ladies are, wear a little bit more blush so that it will last till the end of the day.

Thanks for reading ladies!

Hope you like my best picks! What are your favourite blushes this year? Maybe i could try too!

Review: ELF Contouring Blush & Bronze Powder

Email |

By adorebeauty06 · November 18, 2011

hey beauties! While I am not entirely back, I would like to treat myself by taking the time to blog and do what i do best. Share my love of make up here. Others would watch movies or go shopping, i want to sit down and blog :) That way its a win2 situation for me too!

Anyways, lets go directly to the review that i wanted to do and for some of you who have requested me to do so.

Its the ELF infamous contouring blush and bronze powder. Well first of all, i bought this from Smoochiezz flea market for a good $6 which is a price you can never get for any make up available in our local drugstores. You can view their website here: www.smoochiezz.com

On to the product, i love how the packaging is rectangular in shape which is quite unique rather than most products in the market. But of course it has a duplication of how Mr NARS blush and bronzer look like. Anyhow, we shall not talk about that here.

Initially I thought that the product would not suit my skintone as you know, i see many raves on Youtube from light to fair skintone ladies using this. So naturally i thought it would not suit me until i saw it in person. The pigmentation is good especially the bronzer. It blends really well and is very soft when applied. The blush however hardly can be seen on my cheeks due to its colour. Heres why:

Can you tell its abit on the chalky side for the blush? The bronzer is amazing for contouring i must say, especially if you have the same skintone as i do. It doe snot have chunky glitters nor does it make my face look orange. Its warm but not too OTT on the colour. As for the blush, i had to apply many many times to at least see colour on my cheeks. So definitely an amazing bronzer but not a blush for me. I have tonnes of other blushes which works better.

Well, if you are new to the bronzer world and had always used blush, try getting this especially because it comes with both blush and bronzer. You can always mix them together to vreate another colour as blush too.

My ratings?I really wanted to give it a 4/5 but the blush of all product doesnt show up well on me. SO 3 it is!

Thanks for reading and I hope you like this post! Been a while since i actually blogged and i missed it alot. so much.

Review: La Femme Hollywood Blush On Rouge

By adorebeauty06 · September 25, 2011

I bought these pre loved items from a Eliza who wants to sell them off. I heard alot about these blushes and they can be found at camerareadycosmetics and more. They are inexpensive blushes which many MUA uses them for their gigs. I heard these from MissChevious on Youtube too thats why i thought why not try them! They do not look all that different on camera, but when swatched, they look far from similar.

Luck was on my side when Eliza threw in one more blush in my orders and I happened to love it alot too! Below are the swatches.

They swatched tremendously pigmented. I think these can be used as eyeshadows too! They are matte with very little tiny silver shimmers, although rather powdery but these babies packed 0.14 oz of products. Alot to go through it! I would recommed blush lovers or collectors to try these and see it for yourself. The other wonderful thing about this is that it last through the oily pores on my face after 10 hours. How amazing. I am wearing Golden Sunset. I didn't know red blushes could look this wonderful.
