Breaking it down: My Brow tutorial

Many of you at Twitter, Instagram and Facebook have asked me how I did my brows. I snapped these pictures while I was peepping my face. Dont mind my swollen eyes. It was really early and I was really tired. Besides that, I had fun. I knew there was the apps that could fit in about 9 pictures. So thats what I took! Best part of it is I was not late to work! Haha! Anyway, other than my video tutorial, this is basically a breakdown of how I did my brows.

I used the same products for years now so these products work for me even when the weather was hot and humid or wet. They sticked with me throughout and im glad to be sharing with you this step by step tutorial.
Top row, from left to right:
First pic: I take a spoolie and brush my brows. After bath, my brows are always all over the place. Keep it neat for other applications.
Second pic: i take the Covergirl eye maker pencil in midnight brown and fill in my brows and draw along my natural brows.
Third pic: I will then lengthen my brow and make the end darker to create a gradient effect.

Second row, from left to right:
First pic: That is how i shape my brows. I elongate and gave it a shape. Your brows are not twins, they are sisters.
Second pic: I prefer a.lighter brow. It makes my features softer. Therefore i used the Kpalette brow gel in no.02.
Its a ginger colour which when you apply lightly will lighten your brows by a shade.
Third pic: This is how it looks like after applying. My brows are more tamed and somewhat "dyed". The product not only lighten my brows but it helps my brow to stay put throughout the day. No fading, shifting and its waterproof.

Third row, from left to right:
First pic: Then take a synthetic brush and brush off the inner brows so that i can create a gradient
Second pic: Clean the lines with my concealer. This is the most important part as it shapes your eyebrow to define the lines.
And VOUILA! Simple!

It takes practise to achieve the perfect brows. So start playing with your make up!

I am going to squeeze in a- Face of the day too just because I CAN! haha

Face:
Sephora Mat Powder in No.35
MUFE HD Duo mat Powder in 207
Revlon colorstay concealer in 004

Eyes:
Loreal Double last extension Mascara (purple tube)

Cheeks:
Mac Fleet Fast Blush
Mac whisper of Guilt highlighter

Lips:
Mac marilyn monroe lipstick in love goddess

Thanks for reading! Till then loves!

Review: My Brown Brows? KPalette Brow Mascara in No.02

I dyed my hair months ago and had a lighter shade. I have been searching high and low for a brow product that would hold my hairs and lighten the shade of it to blend it well with my hair colour.

So what exactly did i used on my brows?I was walking at KLCC last 2 weekends ago and I went to Watson in hope of finding Rimmel Airy Fairy but sadly enough the whole display was not stocked. But then as I was walking, i bumped into a brow product.

Its the Kiss Me KPalette Heavy Rotation Brow Mascara! I bought it for RM35 (SGD$14.30). Affordable much! I went to sasa or watson here in Singapore and I could not find it. However i do find a dupe from Kate and Canmake. So maybe you girls can reach for them as well.

Breaking down, the size of the bristles are really helpful in terms of brushing my thin brow hairs into places. It has a bulky screw top to the mascara that makes the grip of the wand more stable and easily to control every strokes. The colour looks very orange on the wand but fret not, it won't look too orangey when applied to your black brows.
This is the before and after look.
My suggestion is, upon applying the product on your brows, use it very lightly on the brow and do not double coat it because it will clump and look very wet and super UNNATURAL! It is very not flattering. Keep this in mind because its important!
For you girls who have brown hairs, get your brow shade close to it! It will compliment! Trust me!

Thanks for reading!
xoxo!

Picked Up: First purchase from Shu Uemura

By adorebeauty06 · September 25, 2012

I "HAPPENED" to be at Tangs because my gf wants to get the brows done at Shu Uemura. Well it all started that way doesn't it? I was browsing through the products of course since there was only one BA at the counter and she was busy plucking my gf's brows. So i ventured out on a role to learn more about Shu Uemura's products. I love the extension range of blushes! They range from purples, light pinks, bluish tone pinks to an array of corals! None of the blushes are packed with too many fancy glitters. They were nice to see and to touch too! One of the blush caught my attention. DIRECT attention. It was the vivid orange. The colour is super vibrant and i can't help but to swatch it. It was a major love at first sight. Nothing like what i had in my drawers. It is almost like expensive pink but slightly darker. After the BA put it on me, I was sold instantly. It just made me look radiant and brightens my face after a day of hard work! Loves it! However, the price is not on a friendly side. If you can see below, you need to purchase the packaging in order to carry the blush around. Otherwise, if you have palletes like the Z palettes, this might be good to pop right in there without to pay the addition $14.00. I NEED the packaging because im always on the go. I need this blush with me wherever I go. And that additional $14 was actually a good investment because i brought it out alot of time and i love how mini and light it is.
On to the brows, I was torn in between MAC or shu uemura. And so i thought i wanted to give this highly raved pencil a try. It is funny how it seems like there is no colour coming out from it when you swatch, but when you stroke it on your brow hairs, it fills it up in a way looking like brow hairs! I like the pencil because it gave me the natural hairs i need on my brows. It does not have a wax on the pencil like many brow pencils do so it does not look too "uniformed". The result is deinitely natural and it accentuates your brow hairs and shape.this is how it looked despite my oily face.  I was trying to show you how it looked like at the end of the day. Oh! to add on, it does not oxidise too making my brows look darker at the end of the day. And so we received samples because together, my gf and I accumulated more than $120 worth of products. So we split the freebies to try their products! In addition to that, thanks to Charlene for "over-purchasing" (haha) we both received the Shu Uemura membership card!

I am a happy girl indeed! Haha! Anyway thats all folks!

What did you purchase from Shu Uemura that you really love?!

1. Brow Pencil: CoverGirl Eye Maker Brow Definer in Midnight Brown

2. Brow wax/ Mascara: Canmake Coloring Eyebrow in Brown 03

3. Concealer: Revlon Colorstay Concealer in Medium Deep

4. Brush for concealer: Urban Decay Synthetic Brush

If you are ready, lets start! Step by step!

You can stop here. But i never leave the step step out. This is where the magic happens. It defines, cleans up and instantly gave an illusion that your brow is high and bright! Try it!

As simple as 1,2,3. Well at least practice makes perfect! That is how my brows look. The product lasted fairly well on my brows, even when i perspire due to the humid weather, my brows still stands strong. haha!

Review: CoverGirl Brow & Eye Makers

By adorebeauty06 · October 17, 2010

I do believe i have done this review before. But at this point of time, a review of which i have experienced myself for at least a month, is more valid. I bought this a year ago from Drugstore.com. You can buy it here. It is sold in pairs and sadly i misplaced the other pencil. So, this pencil can be used as brow/ as eye pencil liner. I never really tried it as an eye pencil as i use this mainly for my brows. I never thought of using this as the color is very light. But, ever since i dyed my hair lighter, i had to use this to match with my hair color.

I thought this pencil wont work or last to be quite honest, based on the price i paid. But i was wrong. Below is the swatch of the brow pencil.

It is a taupe soft brown color.

This was what it looked like on me.

I love this brow pencil majorly because:

- it is easy to draw.

- It comes in many other colors.

- it does not fades through the day, on my oily face.

- The color suits asian skintones

- It serves as a wax as well since it keeps my brows together neatly.

- The color is buildable.

I don't love this pencil because:

- one swipe, and my brow is GONE! so i have to prevent anything from my brows. everytime i will go ' GET AWAY FROM MY BROWS"

- i have to keep sharpening it. super lazy. I prefer retractable ones. (Personal Preference)

That is all i have to conclude about this brow. I would highly recommend it to my viewers who are on a budget. It is a great pigmented brow pencil to suit everybody's skin/hair color.

Thanks for reading!

Review: Benefit High Brow Pencil

By adorebeauty06 · July 13, 2010

Product Specs:

2.85g Net wt. 0.10 oz.

A brow lifting and enhancing pencil that instantly adds a lifted look to the entire eye area. It's never been easier to raise a brow or two! The soft, matte linen-pink pencil looks beautiful on all skin tones.

Retails @ $42.

Experience:

This pencil is SERIOUSLY not cheap. Especially for something you buy just for your brows. But this pencil isnt just an ordinary pencil which conceals and clean the other areas of your brows, but it also helps to brighten and lift the brow making you look fresh!

The texture of the pencil is very creamy, glides nicely on my eyebrows, HIGHLY pigmented and easy to blend out, referring to the images below. The pencil promises long-lasting freshness and lifts the brow. But from my experience, this brow pencil does not last more  than 8 hours. It helps to keep my brows vibrant and cleans up any booboos i made on my brows. But it does not last through the day. I dare say, even with a highlighter eyeshadow from MAC, in Nylon, that eyeshadow is able to lift my brows and last all day due to its frostiness. Nonetheless, i do like that it conceals the area surrounding my brows, keeping it neat and tidy. Something unique which i never had in my collection.

Will I repurchase it again?

The pencil is going to last me a very long time. I do not think i will repurchase it even if i ran out of it. Its nice to have, but not a MUST to have.

" How do I apply it?" Might sound better. Sorry lovelies, typo error i must say.

Ratings:

I don't hate it. It works but does not last. So a 4 will be just PERFECTO!

Love,

Diana
