March 7, 2010 11:33 pm · Posted by adorebeauty06

Maybelline Pore Zero Base

Similarities

- 30ml/
- lightweight
- smooths out pores
- create a smoooth canvas for foundation application
- flawless finish

Other aspects

spf 25
- pink pearls which adds rosiness/ radiance to the face, prevents dullness
- pores still visible
- fragrance-free
- It does not help in preventing oiliness
- my face gets oilier in about 6 hours which would make my make up fades/ shifts easier
- only one shade/ tone for all skin types

Make Up Forever HD Primer in No.6

Similarities

- lightweight
- smooths out pores
- create a smoooth canvas for foundation application
- flawless finish

Other aspects

-no spf
- evens out olive skintone (malay skintone)
- pores appear smaller
- fragrance
- moisturisers the face
- closed the pores up from any dirts/pollutions/ products applied above it
- make up last much mch longer without any touch ups
- comes in 6 different tones to help various skin problems like rosacea, dullness, and more

VERDICT

For non-oily skin, i recommend the Maybelline Pore Zero Base.
For oily skin, MUFE Primer will be a better choice.

For starters, i recommend the Maybelline Pore Zero Base. It is way cheaper, plus its a tough fight with MUFE. Almost produced similar result.

*Take note, different skin has different reaction to many other products. These may not be your ideal primers. All of the above are from my own experience. Buy it at your own risk! :)

Thank you for this Primers reviews. As for starters, i'm liking the Maybelline Pore Zero Base. Eventhough i have to blot oncefor the whole day, i don't mind. It's wallet-friendly anway. When i have more moolahs, i will definitely get the MUFE one. ;)

And I have trouble just drawing kiddy-looking numbers and arrows and watermarking (half-opaque ones) Sigh. Love the boxing gloves!!!

hey diana, i'm wondering if you've tried smashbox's primer. i think there are a few. like the photo finish one. i've heard lotsa great reviews but don't know if it's worth its price. (i think 16usd?)

nylelyn: nope. Smashbox primers basically are silicone base, and no huney`it aint gonna work..so i avoid it :) But maybe you can try it :)

AB: hehehe no worries! :)

Oh, sorry I forgot to add this: In Japan, there is actually a second shade of the Angelfit makeup base called 'Natural'. It's the same colour as the Make Up For Ever primer that you've featured here. It's supposed to even out skin discolouratios and also be better suited to darker complexions (ironic that Japan carries it but not Singapore huh?). I wonder why Maybelline never imported that... :(

hold on. the angelfit and MUFE do not have silicone base??

YAYY!!! Thank you so much for this, dear. A great comparison review, and I just have to reiterate what's already been said, the image is SO CUTE! Siap dgn gloves lagik!

I've got a combination skin leaning more towards oily, and I think the MUFE would be perfect. But I think I'll just add it to my birthday wishlist, and get the Maybelline one to try out first! Haha. Thanks again, hun!

Anonymous Bosch : wow! that is quite interesting! Means to say, they cater for other skin types too huh! Maybe maybelline is just testing market. Maybe when they know you girls love it, then they will be more likely to have more ranges :) Thanks for sharing.

alfz : I am not sure. But i believe it does not have silicone in it OR very minimal. :)

lydia83 : LYDIA!! :) Well thanks to you this video benefits many :) Hahaha Gloves to add glamour on the ring! eheheh Anyway maybeline would be just great hun. And save up for the mufe ok? :)

silicone base! ahhh no wonder! no thanks man, then i'll go for the MUFE then. I am trying out the Maybelline one right now, i'm not the oily type, but it doesn't minimize my hugeass pores. :( does make seem a little fairer though. i'd prefer a more natural shade than pinkish though.

Hi, I would like to ask if you have any recommendation on under eye concealer? I see you use different ones, but is there any that works best esp for dark circles?:)

Thanks!
